Re: Covid-19
A Phoenix-area man is dead and his wife is under critical care after the two took chloroquine phosphate in an apparent attempt to self-medicate for the novel coronavirus, according to hospital system Banner Health.
Chloroquine has been touted by President Donald Trump as a possible treatment for Covid-19, but it's also "an additive commonly used at aquariums to clean fish tanks," Banner Health said in a statement.

Re: Covid-19
I don't understand how private companies that don't manufacture medical supplies can begin doing that without having months of preparation to get equipment, supplies and personnel together before turning anything out, especially with sophisticated equipment like ventilators. In any other instance it would probably take 6 months to a year to get a new plant up and running. Rushing production can't be a good thing either...it's not like you were sold a vehicle with all kinds of issues. Would you want a ventilator keeping you alive that was made from a company that was previously only manufacturing thumb tacks?Let the kids play.

Re: Covid-19
China's been really good over the last few decades at being able to start up production lines at extremely short notice - lots of European/US companies use them to prototype stuff and fly it over for review. I'm not saying that they're definitely good quality, but I can believe it could help.
