I'm sure many here will disagree with me because Gardner.
Perhaps folks have good cause to not to like Gardner and it's not reflexive and irrational. These antics are not new. I think Cole should be commended for only yelling at Gardner.

Time will tell whether or not the trade for Roughned Odor was worth it. The minor league centerfielder the yankees gave up hit 20 home runs and had 20 stolen bases. Maybe it was Joely Rodriguez that tipped the scales.

I know one thing. Brian Cashman does not know when to hold ‘em and when to fold’em.

Towers was a possible contender for future Gardner playing time. He had to go.

Let's be blunt: if he pulled that on Roger Clemens or Kevin Brown, either would have folded him into a pretzel on the spot.

Meh, from what I've read about Gardner, he is very well liked in the clubhouse, and known for keeping things " loose ". I'm sure this type of horsing around goes on in every clubhouse. Some guys can take it, some guys can't. No need to get in to a fight about it. But, I guess it gives everyone another excuse to dislike Gardner.
More people have walked on the moon than have scored an earned run off of Mariano Rivera in the postseason.

Let's tackle another issue with this story. Klapish is Cashmans boy. He wrote his book.

What is the point of a story like this that makes Cole look bad, Judge look bad, Gallo look bad, and Boone look bad right now?

Perhaps those of us who have come to dislike him aren't OK with him hazing and mocking other players. I'm highly suspect of anything that says that Gardner is liked. I played sports with people who did stuff like Gardner has been reported to have done and teammates would say they were OK with it until you pressed them on it and then they would say they thought it wasn't cool and that they didn't like the "prankster."

We don't permit hazing and mockery here, I guess we should start letting folks do that to keep things "loose."

" hazing " ? I think that's a bit strong; its not a frat house in that clubhouse, and if you are comparing it to frat house hazing, I think that's over the line.

Picking on new players, rookies, etc doesnt keep things loose. It has the opposite effect actually

I don't know; Klapish wrote an article just a week ago about how the re-hiring of Boone was an indication that its status quo and disappointing for 2022. That doesn't sound like a Cashman puppet talking to me, but, I don't read his stuff much.

I am referring to Gardner's antics towards other players - Tyler Wade, etc. If you don't see that as hazing then we have different definitions of that word..

Hazing is an umbrella term. One need not die from alcohol poisoning to have suffered the uh, ‘ritual’ act of hazing.

Fair point. I don't read him frequently either. Maybe it is just as simple as the old dynamic is no longer in play.

Which one was the Gardner - Tyler Wade hazing story again?
