My son just did the CVS drive-thru self-swab test after a possible exposure at work, and was told his negative carried a false risk of 19 per cent. If multiple people are positive, the fact that the result was non-reactive to the sample from positive Individual A does not mean the test will not respond to the sample from positive individual B. I don't believe your assertion (if I read you correctly) that there is any increase in overall false negatives.

I think there is real potential for what you might call maintenance testing in groups at high risk, such as meat plant workers or nursing home workers, or military or other units in close proximity such as shipmates, barracks-mates. or sports teammates. This would allow frequent testing of groups on an ongoing basis (hopefully of the less-invasive types of tests) without expending huge amounts of resources, and allow a greater chance of catching a 'fresh' positive before it propagates through the group.

    Yeah, that’s fair.

But at least I’m a real fake doctor.

And I don't dispute that the program has been inadequate since the beginning.

Some states are so screwed that they would "pee on a spark plug if they thought it would help".

What I'm surprised at is with CA. Texas and Florida there is some explanation by virtue of having Republican Governors. What's CA's excuse? Haven't they locked down?

I think in CA that people just are not listening and following guidelines.

Again, people are dumb. Go out if you want, sure, but wear a mask and don't crowd anywhere and you can sustain that for months without a major outbreak. Instead people act like there's no problem

Because although it's implied a lot and in some cases earned, republican politicians and citizens don't have the market cornered on stupidity. I'm not sure why CA would surprise you honestly.

Sorry to hear this. I hope that she recovers fully and quickly.

They did and in areas where they are following it it’s mostly contained. In areas that have had a big reopening is where it’s starting to spike.

What's awesome? I lived there for a year, and, except for a mediocre beach, I saw very little to like. DisneyWorld>>>>>DisneyLand.

Ugh, Linda. I hope it's not that, and even if it is, I hope she's well soon. <3

Yeah I too lived in Orange County for a while. A few good bars but mostly it was just horrendous traffic.
