I’m so grateful that the vaccine is being arranged for me. All I’ve had to do is say okay.

I'm now !A by age but there is zero availability within 50 miles. I've registered with nine providers so far. "Don't call us, we'll e-mail you." The two Rite-Aids hand out appointments daily but were sold out at 5AM. I have to figure out what time they reset for the new day.

Clearly, 1A will take a while.

We have a family friend who is 83. His doctor isn't doing vaccine inoculations.

He doesn't have a computer, he doesn't have family as such to assist him (most of his family is in Poland). He feels completely helpless. We've been trying to help but it's been a pain (try calling on the phone, that's fun). We finally have him scheduled for the first vaccine but it's in East Hartford. He would have no way of getting there (He no longer drives) if it wasn't for us taking him there.

The state needs to have a better system for seniors. It's bad enough for seniors who don't have a great support system. I can't imagine what it's like for the homeless.
You wanna know what? You gotta problem with Luis Cessa, you gotta problem with me. And I suggest you let that one marinate

Trust me, the system is a nightmare right now.

If only they had like 9 months or so to figure this out in advance of the availability. Who knew???

I've worried a lot about this. There needs to be phone hotlines and free transportation for seniors. It's really inexcusable.

The phone call-in hours are 8am-4pm. You can't get through, but if you're diligent you may get lucky and have a call back. There's no excuse for the call-in centers not being 24/7.

CT is supposedly one of the better states for the roll-out. God have mercy on us all.

New Jersey rolled out a phone line yesterday...all it does is direct you to the website. Apparently it should be staffed starting Monday.

Supposedly fifth best. If so we may get vaccinated by 2040

The CT website is terrible. The roll out now is 65 and over, but one the first questions they ask on the website is if you're 75 or over. If you don't lie you can't get to the section where they schedule the age 65 and over. It's crazy.

I know you posted this yesterday, but the US has been vaccinating 600-800k per day for the last 10 days or so (and may be even higher than that in the last couple days, not sure):

Obviously still needs to be higher, will take most (but not all) of 2021 at the current rate. That said, it's going to slow down a lot when we get over 60-70% of the population being vaccinated, as the remainder will get harder to track down/convince.

                                Bingo!

I've been checking seven websites over a 30-mile radius three times a day since Tuesday night with zero appointments available.

Just booked a Rite-Aid 20 miles away for Jan 27.

What a relief! I'll feel even better when it's in my arm.
