Is it? I had not heard that but it would make sense since they are making a concentrated effort to get under served areas taken care of. NY is also sending out 35 pop up clinics in the next week or so to lower income areas that will be there for a day or two then come back in three weeks for the booster. Things are starting to look a little better.

The way I heard it on the news was the Bronx community has been lagging in the number of vaccine recipients as compared to the other boroughs and this is an attempt by NYC to make covid vaccines more available to the Bronx community. I thought I heard it was only for Bronx residents but I could be wrong about that specific part of the story.

That would make sense since it's largely low income and POC, and they're the ones not getting the vaccine to them. Of course, I've read many Black people are refusing it due to well warranted distrust of a medical community that has abused them for centuries. I hope seeing high profile Black and other POC getting it can make a dent in that so they can be protected, too.

Colorado is currently providing shots to those age 70 and up, and will expand that to the 65-70 age group in about a week. Mrs Maynerd is in that group. I am not. Close, but not quite.

I haven't been 'carded' in a long time.

The state of Connecticut will expand phase 1b of the coronavirus vaccine plan in the coming weeks to include people who are 65 and over as well as residents who have underlying health conditions that put them at greater risk of the virus.

Gov. Ned Lamont issued a news release on Thursday afternoon, saying he has directed the Connecticut Department of Public Health to begin the phase by prioritizing the vaccine for persons over the age of 75 in the first wave and that he will accept the recommendations of the Allocation Subcommittee of the Governor’s COVID-19 Vaccine Advisory Group to expand phase 1b in the coming weeks.

That will include residents between 65 and 74, a group that is estimated to be around 353,000 individuals; and residents between the ages of 16 and 64 who have underlying health conditions that put them at greater risk of the virus. The governor said that group includes around 362,000 individuals.
That sounds like they plan to do them simultaneously?

lol. For me I am wondering how I prove I have underlying conditions? Have an appointment with my kidney transplant doc next week and will ask.

I was actually carded about 5 years ago for a drink.

Yes it does. The way they had reported it until now was separate. Good news!

my understanding is that it has to be on the honor system for underlying conditions and that's been some of the reasons for delay. HIPAA prevents them from requiring you to provide proof. Could be wrong though.

Ah ok. So expect some people that shouldn’t be there but that is life

                        That is correct.

Vaccinations are by appointment only and are reserved for Bronx residents who meet New York's 1a and 1b vaccine eligibility requirements. Individuals who schedule appointments for Yankee Stadium are required to bring proof of residency.
