    Re: Covid-19

welp, I got an April 12 appt for my first shot of vaccine. If I had expanded the search area I might have found one sooner but April 12th is fine. Navigating the sign-up/registration/scheduling wasn't nearly as bad as I expected it might have been (on their end due to traffic volume). So progress
You wanna know what? You gotta problem with Luis Cessa, you gotta problem with me. And I suggest you let that one marinate

Ha ha - no. This guy is mostly normal and sane.

There is a dude on Howard Stern who swears that Justin Bieber is a lizard person and freaks out if you even mention his name. This guy also believes there are dog men in his neighborhood. He's seen their eyes.

Nice - only 6 weeks away!

Heard on NBC this morning in 6-8 weeks they expect to have more doses of vaccine on hand than there is demand

Glad to see. So if I register March 22 I should get mine in early May

Not necessarily. There will be more vaccine and more appointments added. This is getting better every day.

Actually from my post above I agree. Though they will still need to improve distribution

So.... a friend of mine had covid during the Spring which went undiagnosed but is now dealing with reoccurring health issues from it.

Yeah, I'll keep checking for an earlier appt but one of the problems is you need to cancel the scheduled appt you already have if you made it with VAMS in CT to see if there are any earlier appts are available on VAMS..... and I'm reluctant to do that. So I'll just check in with Walgreens and CVS and a couple independent healthcare centers. Maybe something will turn up, but if it doesn't I'm fine with what I already have.

Got the first shot yesterday. So far only some shoulder pain. I think once the J&J vaccine becomes available appointments are going to be a lot easier to get.

Maybe the only good thing about NYS. Was able to get an earlier appointment without having to cancel the one I originally made for March 24.

                          Re: Covid-19

My parents got their second dose this past Friday (Moderna). My mother said her arm felt like it was on fire, so the health care worker who administered her shot told her to move her arm around.

My father felt fine until the next AM. Then his body reacted...Shakes, fever, loss of equilibrium. He took a nap at 2p and woke up at 10p. He emailed me about it, thinking it was 10 in the morning. He's much better now though.

My mother didn't have any of these side effects. She actually played 18 holes Saturday. Of course, she thinks the shot affected my dad that way because he didn't move his arm around the way she did.

My folks (both are in their very late 80s) had rd 2 of Moderna on Th & Fr of last week. Publix in Florida. Both had the most minor of issues. Mom said she felt a little off the next day for a short while. Took a nap and was fine after the short nap. Dad said his are was just a little sore.
                            That’s it.

Now they want to fly back north in May. (I flew down and drove them home last June and drove them back down late January.)

I told them I’d fly down on a Friday, help them get their house down there closed up and we’d fly back together on the Sunday.

                              https://religionnews.com/2021/03/01/...hnson-vaccine/

The Catholic Archdiocese of New Orleans has declared the COVID-19 vaccine developed by Johnson & Johnson “morally compromised” and asked Catholics to avoid it if given the choice, citing concerns about the use of cells with distant ties to abortion “in development and production.”

The archdiocese issued the statement on Friday (Feb. 26), stating that while the decision regarding whether to get a vaccine is an individual choice, “the latest vaccine from Janssen/Johnson & Johnson is morally compromised as it uses the abortion-derived cell line in development and production of the vaccine as well as the testing.”
The church finds the vaccine morally compromised. I find the church's position morally reprehensible.
