A Mexican restaurant in Texas kept its mask rule. People threatened to call ICE on the staff.his week, after Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) said Tuesday that he would rescind the statewide mask mandate while the vast majority of residents remain unvaccinated, the tough choice to enforce public health guidance fell to business owners, and Picos announced it would continue requiring masks. But, after such a challenging year, the reaction to their decision was disheartening, co-owner Monica Richards said: Several people sent hateful messages through social media and called the restaurant, threatening to report staffers to Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Re: Covid-19
My company has mostly everyone working from home since 3/11/20. One year anniversary upcoming.
We have MS Teams meetings all the time. I never have my camera on because, well because I’m pretty ugly and no one has to see that.
I have a corner of a spare bedroom upstairs set up as my office. Upstairs away from my granddaughters (4 and 1 and a half) downstairs. It is great to see them nearly everyday.
Anyway, my boss hired a new manager several weeks back and had an MS Teams meeting to introduce her. The boss wanted all our cameras on so the new lady could put faces to the names.
So when the meeting started, I didn’t put my camera on. Everyone else did. My boss told me to turn it on.
Well, I put on a jacket and tie for the meeting. I also wore a mask. I told them I didn’t know the meeting was mask optional.
Today I get the J&J v’cine. Hopefully the Johnson’s do me right.Brian Cashman: "I have no idea."

I don't wear a mask to protect myself; I wear it to protect others. I question the efficacy of masks, but even if it reduces the risk of transmission by a percentage point or two, I think it's worth the minimal inconvenience. So, despite my vaccination, I don't plan to put my mask away any time soon. But the CDC is saying small, unmasked, get-togethers of people who have been vaccinated are now within the guidelines. That's a pretty huge first step.

They would be much more effective if people used them properly. Don't touch the mask. Cover your mouth and nose with it. Treat the used mask like Haz-Mat.
