For me, "care" is the wrong word. I care, because peoples' selfishness has an effect on others.

It's undoubtedly callous of me, but I'm at the point I don't feel sorry for someone who has chosen to remain unvaccinated then subsequently contracts the virus. They made a choice; they can suffer the consequences. So, I care about their decision, but I don't care when their decision has a horrific result.

At work (hospital) we had five or six Covid-19 patients for quite a while. The past few months made us all a bit too laid back, I think. Things seemed mostly good. We're back up to 19; many are on vents in the ICU. It's not 100 like it was in January, true. But it shouldn't be going up now. Not after everyone has had months to get vaccinated.

Do you want to know what these patients have in common besides Covid-19?

I'll tell you: Every single one is unvaccinated for Covid-19.

      Every. Single. One.

I hate this ignorant, selfish country.

Over the last 18 months, I've been saying the same two words to Jeanne whenever we discuss a group of people being morons: selfish and stupid.

I am at the point now where I just see a Trump supporter and say in my head what the hell is wrong with you? I no longer care what they say or think. I won’t waste my time arguing with stupid

They also spread it to those who for medical reasons can’t get the vaccine. Usually because the are allergic to one of the components.

we are already seeing a problem with the delta variant of the virus. The epsilon variant doesn’t appear to be problematic but the lambda variant looks like it might be as problematic as the delta variant.

the quicker a vast majority of the population is vaccinated the greater the chance to control the outbreaks.

beyond that COVID cases strain medical resources that had to be taken away from other areas of care.
All of this, plus those of us with kids under 12 would like to reach herd immunity as fast as possible.

Send him home now and don't give him any more services. It's time insurance companies stop covering people who refuse the vaccine.

Saw this. I'm sure the doctors and nurse will be so pleased to see him again in a few months.

They won't be able to do that, as long as the FDA still categorizes the vaccine with 'Emergency Use Authorization.' The anti-vaxers and Trumpists will continue to portray that categorization as "experimental and untested." They need to get out in front of the cameras and say "It's been rigorously tested. It's safe. It's effective.........and now it's mandatory."

They wouldn’t be able to do that anyway. Hospitals have to take care of sick people, period.

There are going to have to find a new hook soon. Full approval coming.

I mean, I'm torn because I want insurance companies to go broke. Single-payer now.

Herd immunity isn't going to happen in this country of the poorly educated (which is how the GOP wants us to be and is the reason they don't fund public education). I just want my kids vaccinated. Neither one of them can be right now. I signed them up for both the Pfizer and Moderna studies, but never heard from either one. =(

This beautiful, joyful, previously healthy little boy is gone because Americans are selfish and ignorant. His name was Wyatt, and he loved animals and nature. He was 5.
