You don’t agree that it’s good. Or you don’t agree it would be a game changer?

personally I agree with Texsahara that it’s something that should be available, but that there are way too many irresponsible people for it to make a meaningful difference.

I mean we already had a restaurant/bar owner tweeting out how great it was that their sick employee came to work instead of staying home because they were short staffed. I suspect that is not an isolated issue though most owners aren’t stupid enough to tweet it out.

I think this is a poor way to look at it. People (vaccinated and unvaccinated) want to know whether they have COVID, and can take responsible decisions to stay at home and inform their managers of the same. Not only that but just put themselves in situations they wouldn't otherwise. Not to mention, the less people in the medical fields working on testing the better. They'll have more time for actual care.

Your restaurant owner example is completely meaningless and anecdotal. I know a guy who took a test and stayed at home. Those cross out right?

I think free available tests are a good idea.

        Just like free available vaccines.

judging by the rate of voluntary vaccines I’m interpolating the percentage of folks who will test. I’m guessing the percentage who won’t test unless really sick is probably somewhat high.

I don't agree. I know a lot of you like to think those that are antivax are racist white Trump supporters. However, in reality, one the largest segments of unvaccinated are blacks, NHOPI, asian, and hispanics (https://www.kff.org/coronavirus-covi...ace-ethnicity/). A lot of it just comes from distrust in the government/big pharma than just being bad selfish people. A distrust in a vaccine doesn't mean a distrust in getting tested.

It's funny the same people who are for vaccine passports are against voter ID cards. Even though vaccine passports would disproportionally impact minorities. So vaccine passports are "inherently racist," right?

No I don’t think all anti-vaxxers are racist white Trump supporters.
but I do think a Venn diagram of racist white Trump supporters and Anit-vaxxers would have a pretty good amount of overlap in those 2 circles.

and while I sympathize with certain groups who have a distrust of government mandated vaccines, I feel that public health issues over rides that mistrust.

Not at all. It's literally the argument that has been made on this forum. Voter ID cards are inherently racist because they disproportionally impact minorities.

That is not literally the argument that has been made on this forum, you’ve just ignored every other aspect of the argument that’s been brought up.

Nope. It literally was part of the argument, and if the search feature worked in this forum I'd show you.

Ah, now it’s "part of the argument." Which is fine, if you ignore the other parts, as you’ve consistently done.

So you don't believe Voter ID laws are inherently racist because they disproportionally impact minorities?

Absolutely. At the same time, I've been pretty shocked at the level of ignorance (mostly among alleged conservatives!) regarding the rights of businesses to operate as they see fit.

I believe the argument is more complicated than that.

                              Of course.
