Much as I enjoyed Stamped From the Beginning, I’ll disagree with Kendi on this. I wouldn’t say that any disparate impact reflects racism, I just think it needs to be ruled out - a sort of presumption of racism. Got to witness live a temper tantrum of one of the anti.mask freaks yesterday. Town I live in has an indoor mask mandate. The loser walks in the door for exiting at the ice cream shop because it is the one closest to his car, no mask and when they said no mask no service he started cursing. All of them sheep and idiots and finally left cursing all the way back to his car. Now wouldn’t it have just been so easy to put a mask on for five freaking minutes?Comment

No, all seating is picnic tables outside. There is no reason to remove your mask at all when purchasing or picking up the ice cream. I am on anti rejection meds so this is an issue of high concern for me. Which is why I don’t eat inside restaurants at all. The Emmys required all attendees to be vaccinated against the virus as well as take a PCR test 48 hours prior. What you call hypocrisy I call a reasonable exception. Which is not to say the rules are perfect. Far from it. But whatever rules an establishment sets should be followed by their patrons or they should go elsewhere. Two groups being treated differently is just a double standard. Hypocrisy is holding someone else to a moral standard that one cannot or does not meet oneself. So if the Emmys were a "Mask up!" rally where everyone was unmasked, that would be hypocritical.
