A police officer who was placed on leave for missing the city of San Francisco’s deadline to be inoculated has died after being stricken by COVID-19, the San Francisco Chronicle reported.

Officer Jack Nyce, 46, tested positive on Nov. 2 and died Saturday at a hospital in Manteca, his wife, Melissa Nyce, told the newspaper Monday.

He made his choice.

I for one take no pleasure in his death. That said I also have zero sympathy for the in-actions he took that directly led to his passing.

You should. Misinformation and distrust are a big part of the unvaccinated, and majority of unvaccinated are minorities.

This story has nothing to do with me. He purports to be a public safety official and turns out to be the opposite. His poor decision making could have, and may have, negatively effected others. Sure bet he put this ignorance on display (social media?) in a show of defiance. If there are just a handful of people that get educated from his selfishness and can visualize how he knowingly created a widow, it might change some minds and save some lives. More so than being shot in the line of duty

I would *love* to turn this thread into a Bible-sized list of “flaunted my unvaxxed status and died of Covid” or “Covid is a hoax and died” list. I’ve already thrown a few right wing radio hosts in here. A Republican House member.

Shane O’Neal, 40, died on Sept. 3 just 19 minutes before his daughter Kylie Dean gave birth to a son in the Jacksonville area, USA Today reported.

Dean was in labor when she got the call her father wasn’t going to make it.
