While much of the Golden State’s current coronavirus woes are driven by virus spread in the less-vaccinated and restricted inland counties, the Bay Area hasn’t been immune. Most Bay Area counties that hoped to reach the yellow moderate level by now remain stubbornly stuck in orange. Marin and Santa Cruz counties, which had reached the yellow level, are back up to orange. San Francisco is the only county in yellow.

For Bay Area residents, that has real consequence. Local health officers have reimposed indoor face-mask wearing regardless of vaccination status and say they will lift the order only after their counties have dropped below the orange level for three weeks, among other conditions.
    Thank god were being sensible

No confirmation (probably never) but rumor is that Gov. Gavin Newsom suffered a bad reaction to his booster.

I understand the amusement. But my tolerance from r that ignorance is gone. It is why so many have died that didn’t need to and still will

Also, as demonstrated earlier, Alabama and Mississippi are our 2 worst rates overall which is nuts because they have no population density and no tourist traffic. 100% due to vax/mask ignorance (California not in the top 10).

Its all about telling people what to do. Blue America likes being told what to do, no matter about what, and Blue politicians love telling people what to do: I think the answer really is that simple. COVID is the best opportunity they’ve ever had to act out their kink.

Tell me more about Ron DeSantis withholding salaries of superintendents or elimianting state funding for districts that choose to have kids wear masks. Freedumb.

When the day comes where I can get diabetes from a diabetic breathing on me, then yes.

Why won't decidedly non-blue Florida politicians let private businesses and local school districts act like they choose? I thought that was a foundational principle of conservatism?

Yes it's being forced on businesses. That's not been disputed. What's your point?

This is one aspect of the justification for employers being an enforcement arm of the mandate that I absolutely do not agree with. To your point, there are tons of things people do that carry risk of increased medical care needs over time and therefore increased medical expenses. I think it's appropriate, as some companies are doing, to account for those costs in terms of premiums, deductibles, etc. I think many large companies do this for tobacco users. You choose to smoke? Fine - but you carry some incremental costs for insurance due to the incremental health risks compared to non-smokers. But there is not a mandate to quit smoking or be fired. You don't have to provide a document to your employer that you don't use RoundUp or have lead plumbing or have black mold in order to keep your job.

Costs that the company and insurance providers need to cover shouldn't be a reason to terminate employees. The vaccine mandate should be debated strictly on the basis of worker safety, but unfortunately the consequence model doesn't really ensure that.

So lets make a person who might have natural immunity get a vaccine against his will even though he works from home? Ok.
