But then why would all countries be doing it? It really is bizarre how all it takes is a few people to say something crazy, and everyone else just falls in line. The more outlandish the claim, the easier they fall in line.

It tells me a lot more people need to be in therapy as there is a level of paranoia today than ever beforehand.

My friend's ex-husband and dad to two of her kids (they're still friends, as well) works there. He was in direct contact with someone who tested positive -- worked right next to him for days -- but can't get tested because he's asymptomatic. He still has to go to work. Meanwhile their girls can't visit him because of quarantine, and they're really struggling with missing their dad. (Yes, they have daily video chats, sometimes multiple times a day if they want.) It's awful.

Who would that serve? Especially when the whole world is reporting large numbers of cases, what benefit is there to ANYONE of inflating these numbers? I just don’t get it.
That's a big question, and I also don't understand either how people just willfully ignore data. It comes down to a lack of education, really. Some will intentionally ignore the data for other reasons, but there are some that are just completely oblivious to empirical evidence

I imagine because of their distrust of the government, media, and science, they theorize that the media is inflating the number of cases and fatalities in order to make Trump look bad.

They say as much. I don’t understand how far gone you have to be to not only believe all of those entities are in cahoots with foreign governments and media outlets, a small army of sexual assaults accusers, every intelligence agency.....and Mitt Romney, but all of them are trying to wrongly go after a man who settled a multimillion dollar fraud lawsuit immediately before taking office.

Also in order to allow the Left to take away their liberties - guns and haircuts and stuff.

Man Who Called Ohio's Lockdown Order 'Bulls**t' Has Succumbed To COVID-19

John McDaniel railed on social media against Ohio's Gov. Mike DeWine's lockdown order. Weeks later he contracted the coronavirus. A few days ago he died.
Even though there’s more and more of these stories everyday, I’m still having trouble finding compassion for them. As my mom said, you get what you get and you don’t get upset.

I’m still trying to process the TX Lt. Governor's political philosophy: "There are more important things than living."

Edit: I’m also still trying to process the GA governor's order, under which fitness centers, tattoo parlors, barbers, nail and hair salons, and massage parlors will be able to open again. Because those businesses don’t have much close contact anyway, I guess.

Despite the plentiful number of crackpots involved in these protests, there does seem to be an undercurrent of anxiety for some about not being able to work, which is understandable if one is worried about having enough money to survive economically.

Part of me wonders how many of these protesters would stay home if the US did a short-term UBI (something like $2K per month per adult, in perpetuity until all lock-downs are lifted) instead of that one-time stimulus check or expanded unemployment benefits.

To be clear, I'm not saying I support them. Maybe I'm grasping at straws, but I'd like to believe at least some of these protesters are motivated by more than the fact they can't go golfing.

                            These are really small protests.

The amount of coverage is exponentially higher than the size of the protests warrant. If cable news covered every protest with 200 people that's all they'd cover.

The media needs to stop giving credence to these small protests.
