No one did. I said they avoided the worst. On TV in real time (and in the slo mo replay) the way his leg got rolled, it's not uncommon for that to be a much worse injury like a season ending tear.

Chubb was not as lucky last night.

Dabol looks like an angry, Frustrated ordinary coach this year...Talk about the bloom off the rose....Yikes...I guess no OL will do that but man oh man.

The OL looks worse when you have QBs with poor pocket presence who hold onto the ball too much. They aren't having any problems making holes for Barkley. Any top 10 NFL QB would throw for 250+ with the Giants OL. Hyatt was wide open several times on Sunday and his talents are being wasted.

Sorry, that OL is horrible...As a result ,Yes, Jones has grown gun shy....Neal is not developing at all..I really wanted him, but it's not been good...

The line is better with Thomas and JMS. I'm not saying there isn't significant room for improvement, but Jones' deficiencies are a problem separate from the line. Hopefully the DeVito, M. Barkley, Eason crew can net the first or second pick.

Tha OL was beyond bad ...I don't know how anyone could defend this group...I think 90 pct of Devito's drops were hurried. If you don't fix this issue it doesn't matter who the QB is..

Better luck next year. Hard to believe they made the playoffs last year.

I'm optimistic about a relatively quick turnaround. I think they have some talent, and are currently projected to have 5 picks in the first 102. They need to get QB right and start to fill some holes. I'm not saying they'll be the Eagles next year, but I think they can be closer to where they were last year.

Yeah turn arounds with the right draft can happen quick in the NFL. That said, all the good will from last year's season has gone out the window and the FO is going to have to actually put together a winning team through the draft and FA supplements. I mean it looked like they were on the right trajectory last year, but this year they just look like clowns. Their -147 point differential is ~50 points worse than the next terrible team the Patriots.

My perspective is that some of this is tanking - I just don't believe they couldn't find a more competent quarterback than Devito if they wanted to. I think the players and coaches are doing what they can, but starting the worst QB in the NFL is going to have an impact. It's not an excuse for the entirety of the season, but the end is going to be brutal.

Colt McCoy is a way more competent QB than DeVito or Matt Barkley and he is just sitting at home. He won a game as a backup to Jones in 2020.
Speaking of Matt Barkley why not give him a shot?

Because they will be be terrible with a journeyman like McCoy or Barkely so why not see if Devito is a viable backup at least? So far the answer looks like no, but I think any QB would look bad behind this O-line.

Yeah but they didn't look good before Jones was lost for the season. Maybe not worst team in the NFL bad, but in that discussion.

McCoy is up until this season a competent #2 QB in the NFL just like Tyrod Taylor. You cannot say he will be as bad as DeVito. He won a game with Joe Judge as his QB and many more with the Cardinals. I don't care about developing Tommy lives with his mommy DeVito. They don't even trust him to throw the ball! By not trying to sign McCoy the Giants are clearly letting themselves get a better draft position. The question is Mara aware of this?

That's an interesting question. I mean, I'm sure he realizes that McCoy or Matt Barkley gives them a better chance to win games now, but I wonder what he thinks of the potential of drafting a QB high in round 1. By all accounts, he's a big Jones supporter, and I think the draft next year will be interesting assuming they have the #1 or #2 pick.

Whatever Mara thinks needs to listen to his football people and stay out of the way. Let Schoen pick his QB if he so choose. Jones will still get every chance to start next season. The cap hit all but assures that.
