New stadium for Rays

It would be a second St. Petersburg stadium built with no natural light. It would be 1/3 attendance smaller than the Trop It would keep the Rays in town and they would continue to operate on a shoestring. If it actually goes forward, it gets Rob Manfred off of the ownership. The Rays have the same ultimatum from MLB as the A’s. Get a new place to play or move. That is sort of a double standard. Even renovated Fenway Park is still a dump. Very nice looking on the field with small seats, obstructed view seats, tiny clubhouses and a lack of creature comforts under the stands. The Sox draw so no pressure to get a new place to play.

Do we know that the dome won't be retractable? That would be another mistake.
