Well word is Brandon Mayea really wants to be a Yankee but it's looking like thats not going to happen unless he takes 84,000 over 5.4 mill to sign this year...Looks like the IFA draft is going to go through with the CBA and he's A top, if not the Number one pick next year if he waits.

I think some stuff might be postpone until the next year. If they don't get an agreement this month and it goes out into April or May then that IFA draft will most likely take place next year.

However, this would not be the first time that the Yankees were screwed out of an IFA signing after a CBA. Wander was supposed to sign with the Yankees, but that CBA changed the rules and they were no longer allowed to pay out the bonus they had promised.

MLB has not announced delaying the start of the IFA signings for this coming year, have they? They only announced delaying the start of 2020 and 2021 (to 1/15/21 and 1/15/22). As of now, the start of IFA signings would be back to 7/2/22. MLB may well announce that they are pushing it back, but they have not yet done so.

Tim Healey of Newsday reports that MLB is not seeking to implement an international draft until 2024.
This news may placate the uneasiness of some current and former players -- including Fernando Tatis Jr. and David Ortiz -- who have expressed concern that certain Latin American markets are not yet ready for the sea change that an international draft would bring. The topic is a sticking point in the ongoing CBA negotiations between MLB and the MLBPA. Word is the new deadline for a deal is sometime Wednesday afternoon.
