      Thanks for the updates.

Spencer had an excellent April (286/329/939), but he has had an even better May (350/366/1041)

BTW - he just turned 22 on May 14th. A belated Happy Birthday Spencer!!

I would promote him to AA in June. If everything goes well he would then start next season at AAA and could have a legit shot to the major next year.

The only negative with him is his strike out rate is 34%. Otherwise there is absolutely nothing to complain about and he seems ready for the next level.

Walk rate needs to be higher.

Yeah, the walk and K rates have both trended in the wrong direction this year, and despite intriguing results that's a bit concerning for future projections.

10.5% BB and 18.9% K last season in 95 PAs

5.6% BB and 31.7% K this season in 126 PAs

Obviously I'm not expecting 18.9% K rate as his baseline, but above 30% is generally not a sustainable MLB player. Hopefully he's just settling in. learning, and making adjustments.

For some perspective, Aaron Judge's highest mL K-rate was 28.5%, and that was at AAA. When he was in High-A as a 22 year old like Spencer this year, he posted a 25.3% K-rate.

Hit his 8th HR of the year tonight, but also struck out twice, increasing a K-rate that had already ballooned to 34.5% coming into today.

I hope this is just an adjustment period, because if it isn't his prospect status will quickly go the way of Florial no matter how good the counting stats are.

It's not just the K rate that is worrisome...It's how much he's off the ball . It's one thing to SO by fouling the ball straight back twice then a swing and miss. That says he's close as we all know to squaring up the ball. He is missing the ball by a large gap at times...If his pitch recognition on the off speed stuff doesn't improve he'll be another Flo. Hit his first AA home run tonight, a grand slam, and stole his first base, too.

                            Finished 1-4, HR, SB, 2 BB, 3 K
