Willy Montero is another one that based on surface level stats and his physical traits alone seems to really be a prospect with real upside.

      Saw this on twitter today...

      Jinwook Kim

      ?

John Cruz this season has more RBI (44) than games played (42) or strikeouts (40). RBI are useless but impressive nonetheless.

RBI might be useless, but you can't win many games without them.

So i went to the Tarpons game last night and came away with the thought of why has Omar Martinez not been on any prospect lists? First off built strong ,thick thighs and butt like an old school catcher. Blocks balls down real well and can frame as well as i've seen. His arm wasn't a cannon but strong and accurate to throw to all bases. Now for the other end. Omar is a LHH which i love. He works the count and has some pop. As much as I love Gomez arm and pop time, I think he'll never hit enough to carry the glove... How Omar isn't listed above Antonio is a crime IMO.

Appreciate the scouting report. Martinez wasn’t on my radar but will keep up with him now.

So Ruta and Kratz kill our development system. Analytics have trickled down to the minors they say and all the team cares about is exit velo. Lack of fundamentals and contact just hit the ball hard and improve on hitting the ball hard. Kratz says they are a first class team with everything off the field but on is a mess. Only go with analytics they tell the staff . They said something really needs to change. Ruta said it all went crazy around 2018...Ruta said analytics are needed but that's all they follow. Ben Said he felt bad for the young guys coming up because at least he had a few good years of good coaching.

Call me old school, but I don’t understand this new mentality that batting average doesn’t matter, RBI’s don’t matter, and striking out 200 times a year is ok. Everyone complains they don’t hit with RISP. How do you string hits together when everyone in the lineup is batting in the low 200’s? Regarding RBI’s are you telling me that anyone batting in Judge’s spot in the lineup last year would have driven in the same number of runs? Again, call me old school but I believe this organization has gotten far away from what actually wins games.

It has gone from one extreme to another and needs to meet up somewhere in the middle...You can have a power guy who strikes out in the line up but the line up can''t consist of multiple players who do.Whatever happened to "Hit'em Where they Ain't"?

If Brito and Vasquez are going to be sticking in the majors then get Fitts up to AAA. Why are bullpening games?

Clay Aguilar info, anyone? 24 year old RHP in high-A, went to Houston for college, great debut in low-A in 2021 but then missed all of 2022.

Right back at it this year. Put up 2 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 5 K tonight, and now has an awesome 13.36 K/9 on the year.
