I personally would go with Thorpe (he should be in the running for MILB Pitcher of the Year also), but a Darkhorse candidate should be Florial. Really had a superb all-around season.

I hope it's Florial to make Cashman look stupid for refusing to call him up till he ran out of outfielders.

Good article thanks for posting... As i said before he came up the system with a lot of others getting more playing time... I do agree with the scout about his arm not being great but his blocking skills could develop ...He has real soft hands and uses that to much but can gain blocking skills easy. As far as framing goes , it's soon IMO going to be lost art...

I see a different player than the one who was up here for very short shifts the past 4 seasons. He looks more "into it" now that he is getting a chance to play every single day.

I read somewhere that Florial is a free agent after this season but can't the Yankees retain his rights by just keeping him on the 40 man roster all offseason?
