Yanks just need to remind him that 29 teams passed on him earlier this year and his best chance for a secure spot is #4 OFer on the NYY - which I hope he gets.

Per Baseball America, Yankees are sending following to the Arizona Fall League:

      Henriquez, Nolberto P
      Stevens, Kevin P
      Stuart, Baron P
      Vrieling, Trystan P
      Cowles, Ben INF
      Durbin, Caleb INF
      Medina, Nelson OF

Henriquez is interesting..He throws BB's but needs something secondary...
Cowles has been an under the radar guy ...Can play all 3 if spots and gets on base...Guys like Cowles, Gaspar and Burt are good plug and play guys..

I think this is correct. I think it could be a big mistake to give up on Florial now. While every prospect has a big risk of flame out, he has dramatically improved his K rate over the last 3 months and is showing the tools and results to be ready to make an impact (I'm talking about his minor league results).

Yeah, I don't think the organization would have given him a 40-man roster spot a couple of weeks ago and not be planning on keeping him on it.
There are plenty of OFers on the roster now that should be released before Florial IMO.

I think the plan for him should be to compete for the 4th OFer roster spot in 2024. This guy is talented and still has the desire to improve IMO.

I also think in general the organization needs to quit coddling their top 30 prospects that are 21 or 22 years old - they should plan to develop these guys further at the MLB level if they want their roster to get younger.

Does anyone think that Volpe will be more "ready" to have an impact in 2024 because he struggled so much this season, or would he have been more "ready" had he spent at least a half season at Scranton?

I agree. They are getting better but still have to get with the times.

The BA MiLB leader boards were posted today... It says a lot about how are org. is handled ...Only Flo made the board for Slug pct at ten. No one in the org made the top board in any other category like BA or OBP...Who did well, who else but the Dodgers...
On the pitching side we had good representation by Thorpe.. Also listed in the top ten for innings was Spence and Fitts..Thorpe,.Fitts and Beeter made it for SO.. Thorpe was in just about every category.

Thorpe and Beeter made the BA hot prospects list for the year...Basallo made it as well for the O's...That kills me because we had him but used the money for Montero..

I agree with this. Guys like Bauers, Cordero, Kiner-Falefa, McKinney come to mind as 40 man roster holders who should be DFA'd before Florial. Yankees need more speed, more athlethic guys in general. Florial fits the bill, and his upsaide IMO is greater than any of the above 4 guys.

Good to see Matt Sauer added to AFL roster... Makes a lot of sense.

I'm rooting for him and have been for several years now.

If he suddenly "figures it out" now that he's healthy, he may be ready to make huge development strides in 2024 - and we can hope for him to arrive in 2025?

I think this is his chance to be protected..A bad showing and he'll be taken by another team in the R5 draft .

Drew Thorpe has been named Pipeline' MILB pitcher of the year! This is absolutely amazing.
