While every prospect has a big risk of flame out, he has dramatically improved his K rate over the last 3 months and is showing the tools and results to be ready to make an impact (I'm talking about his minor league results).
There are plenty of OFers on the roster now that should be released before Florial IMO.
I think the plan for him should be to compete for the 4th OFer roster spot in 2024. This guy is talented and still has the desire to improve IMO.
I also think in general the organization needs to quit coddling their top 30 prospects that are 21 or 22 years old - they should plan to develop these guys further at the MLB level if they want their roster to get younger.
Does anyone think that Volpe will be more "ready" to have an impact in 2024 because he struggled so much this season, or would he have been more "ready" had he spent at least a half season at Scranton?"Somebody once asked me if I ever went up to the plate trying to hit a home run. I said, 'Sure, every time.'" -- Mickey Mantle

The BA MiLB leader boards were posted today... It says a lot about how are org. is handled ...Only Flo made the board for Slug pct at ten. No one in the org made the top board in any other category like BA or OBP...Who did well, who else but the Dodgers...
On the pitching side we had good representation by Thorpe.. Also listed in the top ten for innings was Spence and Fitts..Thorpe,.Fitts and Beeter made it for SO.. Thorpe was in just about every category.

If he suddenly "figures it out" now that he's healthy, he may be ready to make huge development strides in 2024 - and we can hope for him to arrive in 2025?"Somebody once asked me if I ever went up to the plate trying to hit a home run. I said, 'Sure, every time.'" -- Mickey Mantle
