Well we have no one on BA's best R5 players this year but we all know that doesn't seem to mean too much.

I also think if they find a better lefty reliever to carry, Ramirez is very expendable, along with fellow lefties Matt Krook and Anthony Misiewicz
Ramirez was terrible against LHB last year and not special during his career, so I agree they should look around for one but Ramirez ain't it. Also, with the three minimum batter rule LHP become far less valuable unless they can also get RHB out. Shame they can't get Hader.

Yankees sign first MiLB FA Yerry De Los Santos... Relief pitcher who is best known for a 96 mph sinker...

Another experiment for the pitching factory machine!!!

Seriously, seems like he has decent life and movement on his sinker. But his overall command is spotty, at best.

The little bit of film I've seen on him - his two-seamer is a weapon vs. righties. It starts outside and winds up on the outside corner. My guess is it will also be effective against lefties, catching the inside part of the plate.

He's walking between 3 and 4 batters per 9 - too many IMO. That's where the improvement needs to be. He's faced about 200 batters, and his career numbers look good:

I'm holding on to my seat and putting on one of those plastic ponchos from Maid of the Mist because I'm expecting a Big Splash soon

Who are we likely to lose in the Rule 5 draft?

I would say Barclay and Lockridge have a good shot...Barclay is Small but puts up numbers for lefty and Lockridge is at least a 4th OF'er type being he can play CF. Lockridge has an avg at best arm but has Plus speed.
Sauer May also draw some teams ...Injuries have been an issue but stuff may have team get a look see for ST. Remember Catchers also draw interest a lot.

Agree on Lockridge. He should be a fine 4th OF for someone in 2024. I expect him to be picked and not returned. Not sure about Barclay though. He strikes me as someone who should be picked up in the Rule 5 draft, but unless he has a near-perfect ST, he is the type that gets returned.

Wonder what will be with Dunham? Will someone take a chance?

Oh yea, I forgot about Dunham...Another guy with plus wheels and a very good OF'er.

BTW we are going to lose a lot of guys i fear on the lower Minors side as well.

If someone picks a player from low A, so be it. Can't protect everyone, and all teams take chances on leaving players exposed that they would really rather not lose.

I think we'll come out OK, when all is said and done, and after ST when some of the Rule 5 picks are returned.

                                Same here.

He does not really have a clear path to playing time in the Bronx though. At least not until next year if/when the Yankees move on from Rizzo.
