Truth is, That slash line does not lie. He is having an outstanding start to the season. Just today he has 2 doubles and 3 walks.

Manager Aaron Boone indicated Friday that Schmidt is doing well, but the right-hander has yet to progress beyond long toss. The Yankees are likely to be cautious with Schmidt's recovery from a a right elbow strain, though they still expect him to make an impact with the big club at some point during the season. He'll likely start the campaign at Triple-A when he's ready to pitch.
    Thanks for the update.

    https://www.nbcsports.com/edge/baseb.../ken-waldichuk

Yankees LHP prospect Ken Waldichuk struck out seven hitters for High-A Hudson Valley while throwing four scoreless innings on Sunday.

Waldichuk allowed two hits and a walk. It’s only been three starts for the left-hander in 2021, but what a three appearances it has been. He has yet to allow a run, and he’s struck out a whopping 19 batters while allowing just six hits. Drafted out of St. Mary’s in the fifth round of 2019, Waldichuk is too old for the High-A level (23), but the stuff is here for him to be a successful MLB pitcher. He has three above-average pitches, and his 98 mph fastball has a chance to be plus. Add in a cutter/slider and a swing-and-miss curveball, and Waldichuk certainly has a starter’s arsenal.
Sounds like he should be moved up to AA soon.

I'm excited to hear the good reports on Medina and Peraza (who IMO will be the next Yankee SS) - please keep updating us on their performances!

LOL You're out of your freaking mind, dude. Peraza will, best case scenario, become 50% of the fully formed player as Torres. He will probably be a substantially better fielder but the bat in AA is HARDLY the bat you'll see in MLB. Torres ain't hitting right now but the entire team outside of Judge ain't hitting either.

Want a good projection? Figure Felix Fermin or thereabouts.

One of my last few duties with Pinstriped Prospects is editing videos. I have uploaded a ton to the Pinstriped Prospects YouTube channel the last few days:

We should be getting footage from Tampa next week.
