    9/11

    Hi Jim,

Any shot at bringing up the 9/11 thread from the day it happened. It would be good to read through the posts from that day.

What it really brings back is the confusion and rumors that were going around.
I was supposed to go to the Yankees game that night. I still have the tickets.
I get a chill everytime that I look at them.

I know that this question may be insensitive, and I sincerely apologize if anyone does take offense to it, but did we lose anyone on the site that day?

While I was around that day, I don't recall if anyone was lost. I remember for awhile after 9/11/01, Jim had a whole forum set up dedicated to the tragedy. If that could be resurrected, I'm sure the answers would be found there.

I was supposed to go also. It's why I had gotten up extra early to go running in Central Park before work. The game the night before had been rained out, but it was such a beautiful morning! The sun was shining and everything looked so crisp and new after the rain.

I got home and got in the shower just as the sports news came on 1010 WINS (8:45). When I turned off the shower three minutes later I heard the first report, phoned in to the radio station. Something about a plane hit a tower; at first I thought they were talking about a Piper Cub hitting a grain silo in Iowa or something. Then I heard "World Trade Center" and dashed out to the living room to turn on the TV.

Clemens was supposed to go for his 20th win and a chance to become the first pitcher in history to go 20-1 to start a season ... he did that a week later, in Chicago, when games resumed.

My friend and I used our tickets for the makeup game that was scheduled at the end of the regular season. But I still have the stub.
