    The Same Problem

    I am still noticing that when I post replies in the posts I orginally started the number of posts stay the same. When I make new posts the numbers go up. Is anybody noticing that about their posts? I hope that I am not the only one having this problem.

    Butnud, they don't stay the same. When you make a reply, your post count in all your posts gets updated to reflect your most recent post. Otherwise your post count would never increase.

    Right now, it said you have 544 posts. When you reply to this, both will say 545. I hope this helps.

      well lets see if it does. IOn soem of my other posts it didn't. At this point I don't care what the count number is, but when I reply to the ones i started it stays the same sometimes...

      HMMM I am confused when that happens...

            You posted the topic, you had 544
            You posted a reply, you had 545.

            544 + 1 = 545 It's easy

            Every time you post, all of your information goes into a central database. Therefore, every single one of your posts gets updated every time you post. So the very first post you ever made on the forum will say 545, not 1.

            In other words, it is your TOTAL post count, not the incremental number post that it is. So you won't see post 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14, they will all be updated to your total post count.

              oh I think I understand.....
              So all my old posts gets updated when I post a new one to hte one that I just posted, the number that is.....


              I thought that the old post numbers stayed and the new posts went up a number.
