Correa's deal will determine Seager's market value. You can be sure Seager won't sign before Correa does.
Boras will insist on it unless Seager has instructed him to get a deal done with a specific team.

Big bucks for Heaney is a drunken sailor spend. SMH @ Dodgers for that move.

When Robbie Ray was about the first free agent contract signed in November 2020 Jays fans said he’s a 4th or 5th starter. Heaney the first free agent signing this off-season. Same $.

Does anything even think for a second that Sanchez in his walk year before trying to secure a big time contract turns into a MVP candidate?

Perhaps a change of scenery trade in Contreras for Sanchez can be done?

People can talk about the Dodgers "fixing him" until they are blue in the face. You cannot convince me that Heaney can be fixed. He is what he is. A hard throwing lefty who gets hit hard.

I posted this a few pages back - what do you think?

I'm all for one-stop shopping whenever possible. For two years of Olson and one year of Manaea, I'd add one of Dominguez/Volpe/Peraza, and either Gill or Medina to a Voit/Gleyber/German package. I think that's a balanced package of quality, quantity, high ceilings & low cost that might be more attractive to the A's than we think. Can the Yankee organization recover from losing 5 or 6 very good players in this trade? IMO all names mentioned are expendable. Can this Yankee offer be beat? That's not something the organization can control. The question is, what are they willing to offer?

Some folks might think I'm underpaying, and some might think I'm overpaying. I don't even mind sweetening the pot (Andujar or Frazier or Garcia?) and overpaying if it strengthens the 2022 roster. Three acknowledged weaknesses (SS, 1B, TOR starter) become strengths. Also, in a bigger picture it opens up a couple of roster spots - which is important and has value.

Couple this potential deal with the acquisition of a star shortstop (plug in your preference, cost being secondary) and we might be looking at an AL East contender.

I don't believe Heaney will have a great year with LA. I don't believe he will ever get beyond consistently giving up HR's. Just my opinion, but we shall see. If LA fixes him, good for LA and good for Heaney but I honestly don't believe that will happen. For whatever the reason though, yes, he never would have done anything right as a Yankee.

Ray's issue was always control. It was universally understood that he could be dominant if he could overcome that issue.
He did, and we saw the result.

Heaney's issues are much more complex than that. If anyone can fix him, the Dodgers can but I'm not optimistic based on what I've seen of Heaney over the years.

Agreed. I for one am glad the Dodgers signed him before Cashman had second thoughts and saddled us with Heaney for another season.

As hard as it's been, I've been supportive of Gary Sanchez, willing to keep my hopes up that he'll improve.

Today, I'd do Contreras for Sanchez and provide Gary with a limo to the airport

Make a power move and sign Correa.

A case for offering Starling Marte a 5yr/$75M contract to play CF:

If he's added and Hicks becomes a LFer or 4th OFer and it keeps Gardner off the team? Might make sense.
He brings speed, agility, good defense, good contact rate/low strikeout rate.

OF: Gallo Hicks Marte Judge Stanton with Florial riding the shuttle bus.

I don’t know what’s considered fair value but I don’t think the A’s would be interested in Voit or Gleyber in deals that are designed to reduce future payroll obligations.
