We need players that PLAY in October. Get me Correa and freeman with a side of two years if verlander. Sign judge or trade him this offseason. Trade Chapman and mix and match in the bullpen with back of the rotation guys.

Not for most teams. For the Dodgers. They paid Yasiel Sierra $8.5 mil this season in 2021 after signing him to a $30mil MLB contract in 17. They released him in September. MLB Innings pitched for his 30mil salary ( of which 8.5 mil was on their current payroll). ZERO
I suspect that money is now going to Heaney in 2022.

He's probably going to announce Hal is disappointed with chicken bucket sales and will have to slash payroll budget by 10% so say hello to Andrelton Simmons and Brett Gardner.

Don't bother listening. It will not provide any useful or interesting information. Feel free if you just want to be scolded and mocked by a man very sure of his superior intelligence, though.

The Yankees have internally discussed whether to trade for A’s first baseman Matt Olson, a person with knowledge of the discussions told NJ Advance Media. The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because he wasn’t permitted to speak publicly.

The A’s appear ready to sell off some of their most valuable assets to cut payroll, and the Yankees need a first baseman.

I am sure Yankees would pull the trigger on that deal.

If the new salary floor set by the CBA is 100mil wouldn’t they need him to stay to help reach that floor?
