Olson will be painful prospect wise if they lose Volpe/Peraza or Dominguez

      2. Guarantee in this next CBA they'll have a standardized substance for pitchers to use for grip.
When? He had one "really good" season before Houston- in 2015. He hovered at around league average stats other than 2015.
2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 before the Astros he was a middle of the road starter.

Heck, who knows what was going on with the Pirates that year. They, out of nowhere, got an insane pitching staff. 121 ERA+. That's really good. They were at 103 in 2014 and 96 in 2016.

Q: Who’s the guy on your roster that would have been overlooked if not for analytics? Cashman: Ronald Torreyes. He’s an analytical darling.

        He was 133 ERA+ in ‘21, 1.06 WHIP, 12.1 K, 2.0 BB/9. 243Ks were 2nd highest in Yankee history. Really good season.

Dang. That got me excited that Gary Sanchez was a part of the offer for a half a sec.

Just saw this as well. Seems like these random Twitter accounts have been breaking deals before big Js last couple of years. Probably execs kids or family members.

Hope the OF'er is Florial and not Pereria.

This makes me recall that very funny ad (I think) where Lincoln is asked this by his wife. He hems and haws because he's "honest Abe." The actor was terrific.

If this is the deal for Olson and Torres is spared than perhaps Urshela and Torres can be sent to the Guardians in a deal for Ramirez.

... 2021 was definitely after he went to the Astros.

The ban though was more about guys using spider tack and super glueing their fingers to the ball. That's what led to the ban. Not just using normal-ish stuff. So they just banned everything.

I don't know for sure, but I'd say judging by the stuff Cole has said, he was using more of the normal stuff side. They'll standardize that in the next CBA.

That's a lot to give up for upgraded defense.
Olsen is more or less a comparable hitter to Voit with much better defense.
If Voit is in the deal, giving up Peraza (no idea who that is), Deivi, wells and another player is a LOT to improve defense.

This is the problem. It's a big trade that makes a lot of noise, but it doesn't improve the team all that much. They're better on defense and the farm becomes more barren.

                                4yr OPS+:
                                Voit 136
                                Olson: 132
