Well, if your benchmark is the Jets and Giants (and Knicks) then I understand & sure it doesn't compare.

However, the mismanagement of the Franchise by the current ownership/GM makes being a Yankee fan quite painful these days. Anyone who feels otherwise is drinking the PR kool aid.

Judge will, at age 31 if they don’t extend him soon, want a contract way after his age 36 season.
Don't you think the extra year was because Cohen lost out to Matz (probably the extra year)? They want SP and targeted him (LHP). You are RIGHT - 4 more years with Hicks .... I am not a fan of Hicks and IMO that was a terrible contract (4th OF?). Just for fun. Interesting to compare Hicks and Marte performances. Judge is looking for more than 5 years.... I would trade Judge and Hicks now. (IMO Brian will probably do a 1M buyout and then sign him for 2 years at 20M and PR will say he is a genius)

Are you saying that everyone else should feel the way you do ?

I don't find it "painful" to be a Yankee fan. I enjoy watching the team I root for, each and every day. I get frustrated all the time, but it doesn't pain me and I don't drink kool aid.

I find that insulting for those that don't share your POV about the status of the Yankees.

Sign Freeman, Ray, trade Gary and then deal for Wilson Contreras. Let Peraza/Cabrera/Simmons battle it out for SS. We can survive with them at SS offensively.

The Yankees aren't supposed to be comparable to any other franchise. That's the point.

Competition is good for SS if they really want a stop gap. Iglesias is another that can be considered.

It’s going to be another disappointing offseason.

Every other team in baseball besides LA would drool having judge stanton dj cole torres as a core. they did not play to the back of there baseball card. I will wait and see what trades or signings they do before i get mad about Marte who i did not want. If we signed him people would be mad we went 4 years and paid that money for a spot we do not realy have pressing needs for. We need a SS weather it be a top 1 or a lower 1 and then we need pitching in my opinion after that and decide what to do at 1B

But i see no reason to have went after Marte for 4 years. But i will wait to judge the Yankees when ST comes not 2 days after thanksgiving.

Hard to believe it but Heyman reports the Marlins tried hard to get Marte back. Had to go 4 years. Phils were looking at him too.

IMO the Yanks are incomparable only because of their franchise history - there's nothing else they have to make them incomparable. They aren't the "Chosen Ones"
