Looks like a no brainer sign to me. The guy doesn't need to be that in the US. Just be a consistent hitter.

If Suzuki can be .280 hitter with .380 obp and .460 slugging, that will go a long way to improve this team.
You beat me to it. Let’s take Florial out of the equation for now, if Hicks and Gallo are taking up 2 spots in the middle of the lineup this team is doomed.

Suzuki will end up in Boston. Book it.

I think so too. Moving a productive but defensively challenged Renfroe just to bring back JBJ is an odd standalone move.

I saw today that Willson Contreras is really unhappy with the Cubs front office over their firesale last season. He's got 1 year left to free agency and they haven't talked extension.

I would do whatever it took to trade for this guy. There isn't a single larger upgrade to the roster than this. Defensive stud who would be the entire pitching staff better, and overall a better hitter than Sanchez.

I don't know how this (was) not talked about more often.

I think there's just a sense of resignation that Cashman is the only vote that matters, and he thinks Sanchez is Johnny Bench.

I hid in the clouded wrath of the crowd, when they said "sit down" I stood up.

Benched is his best position, so it's easy to understand Brian's confusion.

This is one reason imo Frazier never amounted to anything in NY... 1ST he just dissed the fans like he did in ST So the Yankee fans are not electric i guess as much as the cubs fans? And of course he never got over the hair thing. I know some people like it and some people do not but when you get paid and your boss says your hair has to be short what do you do?

Anyway if he bats 200 and gets booed are they still better fans? I only bring this up because he is saying us fans here in NY are not as electric as the Cubs fans which to me is putting me and you down.

                  Frazier Tweeted this.

Meh… ‘I’m really excited to come play for the *greatest* fans in the world!’ is pretty standard new player new team fodder, no? I don’t take it personally.

I'm fine with Gallo-Hicks-Judge-Florial-Stanton. There should be OFers available in July if there's a need/injury.

Spend the money in other areas, I say.
If that's the cost for Suzuki, I hope we sign him. Good risk/reward tradeoff at that level.

Well he also took a shot at the face hair on the Yankees which is no matter to me at all take it or leave it but he has never got over it. I just think a lot of why he did not play well in NY was the pressure and not being able to handle it here. But he opened himself up later in those tweets by saying he will be better because he will get a chance to play. So if he plays everyday and hits 200 and gets benched then who's fault is it? Anyway

I wish they would settle but i think it goes into the season which will be sad.

The Yankees deserve every inch of ridicule for their idiotic, reign blows down on all hippies approach to facial hair and hair length policies. It’s silly, and harkens back to the days before FM radio. The rest is just a new player ingratiating himself to the fans of his new team.

Just read a report that the Yankees kicked around the idea of Showalter as manager. On the surface, I would have liked this. I'm not a fan of Boone (poor strategery, poor holding players accountable, very poor 2021 results in getting the most out of his players, very poor fundamentals (particularly in 2021)).

Whose report? That defies credibility. Can't imagine Cashman at this stage even thinking about hiring a manager who would give him the kind of push-back you're going to get from Buck.

Buck is no one’s puppet, and Cashman likely views him as a threat to his job. As such, that idea died a quick death.
