Yankees signed RHP Jimmy Cordero to a minor league contract.

Cordero was cut loose by the White Sox in November after missing the entire 2021 season while recovering from Tommy John surgery. The 30-year-old right-hander owns a career 4.55 ERA and 65/32 K/BB ratio in 83 innings of relief at the major league level.

Cordero is understandable but Inciarte is a puzzle (why ? Gardy).

Bingo. This is the opening Cashman was looking for.

And there it is. I called this back in May:

        https://www.nydailynews.com/sports/b...mgy-story.html

Clint Frazier said he was battling concussion symptoms that affected his mental health last season, making him feel like he was fighting for his life. The former Yankees outfielder linked the issue to “bumping into the wall” in spring training in an appearance on the Short Porch podcast .

“I was severely symptomatic with some of these past issues that I was having,” said Frazier, who signed with the Cubs right before the MLB lockout was imposed by owners. “I was like, ‘We gotta pick the pace up. I need help. I need serious f---in’ help.’”

I don't get Frazier's angle here honestly. He hinted that there was something really devious going on. It seems like the Yankees, as they've been known to do, might have misjudged what their eyes should have told them, but Frazier admits he didn't communicate what was going to to trainers, Boone or anyone else for fear of losing his starting role. So he has a hand in that as well. So I don't really understand the animosity from the former player frankly.

Also, I wonder if he shared this with the Cubs before signing. I mean, if bumping into a wall puts you in a "fighting for [your] life" state, how's that ivy-padded wall in Wrigley gonna work out?

Yeah he held back what he was feeling. He should have told them but he put himself over the team. Normal Clint.

Good take. For all we know the Yanks might have been asking him in April May and June to get some neurological tests done, and for all we know he could have been saying, "Nah, I'm fine - just play me."

You can't force someone to get neurological tests done - it's up to the individual.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. Yeah like that would ever happen. Sign guys that will get injured immediately so Cashman can say Gardner was the only option.

I wonder if Inciarte is good pals with Freddy Freeman.

Obviously I don't know the complete circumstances and if Frazier felt pressured to play or believes he wasn't given the proper medical treatment/evaluations etc but ultimately it's up to an individual to advocate for their own health and well being, especially if they feel like they're fighting for their life
I wish him good luck and good health going forward and I'll leave it at that
You wanna know what? You gotta problem with Luis Cessa, you gotta problem with me. And I suggest you let that one marinate

Yeah it's not adding up - the guy feels like he's "fighting for his life" yet he hides it from the Yanks and doesn't ask for help?

I'm sure Inning Ender has many friends among the Braves, all of whom wish him well at Scranton-WB.

I hid in the clouded wrath of the crowd, when they said "sit down" I stood up.

That's quite the stretch. Team doctors have an obligation to perform whatever tests are necessary to determine what is wrong with one of their players.
It's not like they were recommending a surgery that he didn't want.

If a simpleton like me could see that he was not the same after colliding into that wall in Spring Training, how did a staff of medical professionals miss it?
It's not like it's the first time their doctors have totally crapped the bed...

Seems to have been an issue here for quite a while. Didn't they misdiagnose Chien-Ming Wang's injury back in 2008? Don't know how many (if any) of the same docs were/are involved but ...
