I can't even imagine the possibility of the regular season not starting on time. I'm going to have faith that both sides will not allow this to happen. They absolutely have to look at the bigger picture and get this resolved.

The Yankees' moves from here on out should tell us what kind of team we'll be watching in 2022. I'm hoping they'll be making some headline news in January or February - there's too many needs to address to remain status quo. It'll be time to steal some thunder from the crosstown Mets and become relevant in the AL East.

It seems odd that the Yanks chose to cut ties with Tyler Wade - so now I'm guessing they have a plan to obtain a starting shortstop and a backup shortstop. Yikes !!

I sure hope they let Peraza and Volpe spend full seasons @ Scranton and Somerset - I don't think either player should be rushed up out of need.
And I don't like penciling in Urshela @ SS unless it's a short-term option or they're in dire need.

A few mL catchers are starting to be assembled. A precursor to a Sanchez trade?

Sure hope you are right but I have my doubts. It's still Cashman running things.

Yet even after surviving a shock like Covid, and even with revenues at record highs, these clowns can't find a way to split the pie and are willing to risk long-term damage to the sport.
Many of us saw this coming - the lock out. I have no confidence in Rob Manfred and he makes Bub look good. I am pro players on this one and I know there are pro owners out there. IMO That letter was a joke and probably did more damage. If I was a player I would be upset. I am on the outside but I didn't see any major concessions the owners made and wanted this lockout. I don't even know if there is a date set to start after the holidays. I almost want the players to start an independent league because I get pissed off (not a negotiator at all). I attached Rob's letter to fans and a follow up by CBS for my point. The end is manipulating prospects service time which I don't like.

Lastly, I don't want Correa - just play Peraza at SS next year and later Volpe. Trade Torres or Judge while they has value not Volpe. It was nice to see MLB Breakout article this morning to have them listed (there are a few that agree with this, maybe the only thing I agree with YankeeFan?).

(Post on minor league signed he missed Brantly. Brian may not like him but IMO so far he may/is out best option of those others. We did NOT protect Brantly - he became FA - we resigned him (good).

The plaintive wail that preceded every needless and destructive conflict in human history.

I hid in the clouded wrath of the crowd, when they said "sit down" I stood up.

yes. I checked Rob Brantly . Only 20AB with 3 Hs. I think is bat may be his weak area but I don't feel he got the opportunity. I always felt Brian trades hurt our player developments. Way back when all the talk was Seagar I think you wanted Peraza at SS and it may be the only thing we agree on. I do like your posts. Say what you want about Dave Dombroski (sp) he put Donny Sands on his 40 man roster not Robolfo Duran and there is no way I would have traded him.

What i see is a real mess. #1 the players took a low ball deal the last time so they want to look like they got the better end of the deal. Then the owners are saying look. In football and basketball there is a cap you can spend to but in baseball there is no cap. Yes you get a hard tax after a amount but look at the Mets. There owner is so rich what does he care about a cap. Baseball is about the only major sport where teams can almost buy a WS or at least spend enough to get them close.

The owners are not happy and the players are spoiled but the catch with the players also is yes guys are getting 300Mil but the guys in the middle tier are making the same or less then 5 years ago. The money has went to the top tier guys like Cole Max Seager Lindor and so on while the guys in the middle guys who do good but are not marketable players get less or about the same as years ago.

Both sides have a point and both sides want to win so this goes on into the season like i had said before last season ended.

I Just asked because I don't like Brantly as a receiver. I do feel Peraza is the way to go, not because is don't like Seager, it's i don't like long term deals for positions we have strong prospects coming up in. Same goes for Correa and Story.

I am not a fan but I don't know if he can be a starter catcher but I know Sanchez isn't. He has been around but only MIA gave him a shot way back. I understand - I only like Austin Wells who I hope plays/is selected to play in Winter ball. We only agree on Peraza - I want Peraza at SS too.

I wish baseball would adopt the NFL stance of not always guaranteeing the full contract.

I will be so upset if GS is the starting day catcher again....Enough is enough...I like Wells but at this point see him as a Piazza type catcher.

Totally. The players will never willingly give up 100% guaranteed contracts, but that's the primary thing as a fan I wish they would be flexible on. Even reducing it from 100% to say, 75% at least for deals >4 years. You want an 8 year contract? Fine, but if you stop performing after 6 years, see ya. Or make the second half of a long term deal only 50% guaranteed.

Interest in the game is already waning and an extended work stoppage will inflict irreparable harm to the game. It took a PED-fueled HR extravaganza to bring fans back after the last work stoppage. I’m afraid they won’t be so lucky this time around.
                              Agreed
i also think they won’t have ESPN and the like promoting them like they did during Sosa/Mac.
a lot of the coverage has gone away from the major sports channels.

The reason the NFL gets to have that "stance" is, the NFLPA has never been anywhere near as strong and unified as the MLBPA. They never had a Marvin Miller.

So that stance isn't coming to baseball anytime soon.
