Another trait of that personality type. Born on third base and convinced he hit a triple.

Interestingly, I believe that term was invented (I forget the source) to describe Hal's dad.

I hid in the clouded wrath of the crowd, when they said "sit down" I stood up.

Bah, humbug. Let him prove his super merit before Hal has the guts or money to go after him in earnest. I dislike the "penny wise pound foolish" mode of advancing a team, i.e., take the mere two years now and surrender your possible five- or six-year future in the meantime. A non-in-his-prime Olson for only two years? Not good enough for me. I want more.
You “want more” yet you prefer they spend more to re-sign Rizzo. I don’t understand the logic there. Even more so when hoarding prospects has burned this team time and time again.

Guess we’ll just agree to disagree...

It's out of our hands anyway. Hal Cashman (they seem to be one person in the end) just doesn't listen to the fans.

A Football Coach of all professions, popularized it while coaching Oklahoma ( right before he was hired by the Dallas Cowboys). Barry Switzer.

Is Opening Day really happening next month?

I'm going to optimistically say Yes.

We Gotta Trust The Process, right? lol

I think people forget that the Steinbrenners have been inheriting wealth for a few generations now. George was born very rich. George's great-grandfather, Henry, married into a shipping family and took over that business in 1901. He became very wealthy and this money was passed down to George and now Hal. George was just as much born on third as Hal.

But I think the difference is that George spent much of his inherited wealth to make more money, and much of it vis-a-vis the Yankees (and made it he did), whereas son Hal doesn't go in that economic direction.

I was listening to MLB Radio and they asked Todd Frazier about the ongoing negotiations. Lol he said something like " both sides should give in a little & agree for now to get back on the field and they can discuss stuff down the road. lol

IMO they could & should just agree on a one-year CBA and negotiate all the "stuff" throughout the season, so as to not let any of this affect the fan base- which should be of paramount concern!
If both sides would think like this, then they will prove that they care about the fan base and organization employees. The way things are right now, I don't believe either side cares about anything other than "winning" the negotiations.

If you're saying that Hal doesn't subscribe to the "You have to spend money to make money" philosophy - I'd have to disagree. We're not privy to know just how much this owner spends on the entire organization. Without doing any research, my guess is Hal spends with the best of 'em.

How much was the Yankee organization worth when Hal became in charge, and how much is it worth now?

                        A genuine question - I don't know the answer.

While I am sure the Yankees are worth more now than when Hal took over I am sure percentage wise it is no where close to how much more the Yankees were worth when George stepped down as opposed to when he bought the team.

I agree but I think both sides think if they did that nothing would happen during the season and then it's back to the same thing next off season.

Agree. The only way these 2 sides get anything done is with deadlines staring them in the face.

                                https://sny.tv/articles/yankees-unique-market-lockout

Before the lockout, the Yankees expressed a strong unwillingness to trade shortstop prospect Anthony Volpe (or for that matter Oswald Peraza) to the Oakland Athletics for first baseman Matt Olson, according to league sources.
