Yes it would be implemented in the minor this season and they could implement it in the major starting from 2023.

What a great article about Stanton. Very unique and interesting guy, so respected in the clubhouse, overcome so much after beaning:

But he has hit the ball hard in many of our ST games so far and not least, played very decent defense, i.e., blocked Cashman from his knee-jerk reaction to re-sign Gardner so far, so I'll still give him a pass, My guess is that opposing pitchers fear Gallo enough at least to take care with him, which is to say that they just might let up just a little enough for the following lineup to benefit, I say this with the "maybe" proviso attached, But I do think there'll be times this year when his sheer power will overwhelm us fans as well as other teams.
A pretty good analysis of weighing pros and cons of having Gallo on the team. I'm also optimistic that he's more relaxed this season, more comfortable being on this roster, and perhaps a little thicker-skinned in dealing with public opinion. I think we're going to enjoy watching this man adjust. As previously posted, if he can bump up his BA about 25 points or more and keep his strikeouts under 200 - IMO he'll be well worth the $10M salary this season and might wind up with a pretty good multi-year deal in 2023.

Thanks for posting this. I am finding more and more respect for Mr. Stanton, and if he stays healthy this season I think he's going to put up some HUGE numbers.

As the article reads, his indifference to what public opinion says about him is an acquired skill that I hope he teaches to both Joey Gallo & Aaron Judge this season. Add Rizzo and Donaldson to this mix and it's quite a list of proven veteran "leaders" that can lead this team to the offensive production they're quite capable of.

Unlike in 2021, they have to score at least 800 runs this season (lots more doubles please!) and have winning records against the Blue Jays, Rays, and Red Sox if they're going to challenge for the division, IMO.

I have always liked Stanton. I also hope he can stay healthy and if they will just let him play in the field more I think he will have a great season.

The shift rules don’t go into effect until next season (2023) I believe.

Full package: Oakland gets Euribiel Angeles and Adrian Martinez, San Diego gets Sean Manaea and Aaron Holiday.
Only took the Padres' #13th and #27th ranked prospects, and they don't have a good farm so those rankings are even worse than they sound. I was never in love with the idea of getting Manaea because I figured it'd be an overpay, but we really couldn't have matched that?

Maybe if the Yankees had an actual GM that knows what he is doing.

Glad that the Yankees didn't trade for Manaea. Don't get the love of him. He's nothing special and I rather give the opportunity to Schmidt.
