So where is the Judge extension?

I was wondering the same thing. 3 days til opening day. The hints out there were it’s starting at 30 mil ( at least for first few years) but maybe length of contract is issue. If he signs an extension and doesn’t wait til FA, he’s technically still 29. I’m betting he wants 8-10 years taking him til almost 40 and they want 6-8 years.

What We Don't Need is Another Bad contract. If he wants too much money, and too long of a term, I think that we can move on from Aaron Judge????
I think 7 years 210 million is plenty of loot.

The O's blackout sucks the most, obviously. It's ridiculous because I know of no O's fans locally and they don't have a channel were we can watch O's games.

The only way is to get Direct TV and get MASN.

On Wednesday Brian will give Judge a "Take It Or Leave It" offer and Judge will pass on it.

It's starting to feel like Cashman simply cannot get big things done. He's pretty good at looking under rocks and picking up fringe players and overlooked prospects, but when it comes to the more significant big time improvements, he goes dark. He must have been dragged kicking and screaming into the Cole deal. It wouldn't surprise me if he fails to lock up Judge, and I wouldn't blame Judge for preferring a different organizational environment if that's what it comes down to.

I wouldn't go past 7 years on Judge. That will make him 38 at the end of the deal which is the same age as Freeman's deal will expire.

Yanks will have to trade him and hopefully save that money and go hard after Soto in a few years.

So, 21 Yanks game will be exclusively on Amazon Prime this year. That means even with my MLB.TV, I won't be able to see 13% of their games. Sucks big time

7 years from today puts him thru age 36 though.

Well I'm shocked that the Yanks didn't take my advise and obtain Manaea @ what I think would have been affordable cost. I'm shocked that they've done nothing to bolster the starting rotation. They obviously view things differently than I do. lol

I've weighed in on the Judge extension - IMO, the max offer should be 7yrs/$210M - which is very fair, all things considered. I heard something interesting the other day - could the Yanks let Judge walk if he doesn't like their best offer and replace him with Carlos Correa if Correa opts out after 2022? I think it's a valid option and even possibly a plan.

Supposedly the focus this off season was SS, C, 1B, CF and SP. They addressed all of them (maybe not what I had imagined) except for the SP. Maybe their plan is to start out with quantity and slowly work towards the quality by July?

Yep. And people who think they are going to go after Soto are going to be in for a shock too.

oh BTW I like the trade they made yesterday - they get an interesting arm in Miguel Castro and I think Joely Rodriguez was kind of redundant.

Also I think this means Banuelos (another lefty) goes north on Thursday.

Could this open a window for future Yanks-Mets deals?
