    Hard to do these days when you limit your pool to only the clean-shaven ones.

      Also I think this means Banuelos (another lefty) goes north on Thursday.

      Could this open a window for future Yanks-Mets deals?
      Let's just say it's now a little more possible. Wilpon was dead set against any trade. At least for now Cohen is more open to allowing it.

        I keep waiting for a high profile free agent to say he would have signed with the Yankees but did not because of their facial hair policies.

          We've seen this movie before.
          Soto is going to get like $400 million. You're dead right. 1) Cashman would quit before he would set the market for an OF like that 2) Hal would never sign off on that type of contract. Not with balloon payments to banks and partners to satisfy!

            VPN=Virtual Private Network
            It's a way to somewhat stay private as you browse the internet. You can search online for thoughts on the better ones to use. There are also many free VPN's that re pretty good IMO. Betternet is a good free one that you could try out.

              No agent would allow their client to say such a thing... but I am still certain that has been the case multiple times.

                I've weighed in on the Judge extension - IMO, the max offer should be 7yrs/$210M - which is very fair, all things considered. I heard something interesting the other day - could the Yanks let Judge walk if he doesn't like their best offer and replace him with Carlos Correa if Correa opts out after 2022? I think it's a valid option and even possibly a plan.

                Supposedly the focus this off season was SS, C, 1B, CF and SP. They addressed all of them (maybe not what I had imagined) except for the SP. Maybe their plan is to start out with quantity and slowly work towards the quality by July?
                I don't recall them saying they would be focused on SP. I think they pursued Verlander due to his TOR potential. Other folks were maybe pursued in the effort to get a good deal (eg, Paddock). I agree that I'm surprised at how cheaply Manaea went (although, as you know, I'm not a big fan). I am a fan of Bassitt and thought he went cheaply as well. We will see what happens with Montas, who I think is a strong asset. If Schmidt was the price for Manaea, I am very glad we resisted. For the long-term health of the franchise, I like giving our young arms a chance at the 6th thru 10th spot in the starting rotation (as long as we have good young arms, which I think we do).

                We didn't actually do anything for CF. I assume that Giancarlo is our backup OF but we are pretty thin after that (Locastro is more of a late inning defender and we don't have any prospects clearly ready to contribute at that spot).

                I agree that 1b, SS, and C were all addressed, albeit in somewhat surprising ways.

                  Greg Bird had a good spring but was released by the Jays. Kind of feel sorry for the guy. Pretty much all bad luck.

                    I think one of the bigger/better decisions they made was not bringing Bret back, and I think Boone is comfortable with Judge or Gallo backing up Hicks in short-term situations. If LoCastro has to play more than once a week, then there's a problem.

                          Rodriquez is a classic LOOGY but with the 3 batter minimum rule still in effect those guys are less valuable.

                              I hope this is one of those successful reclamations, because I’m not seeing the appeal.
