Bowden predicting Yankees will get Soto in 7 player trade. Thoughts?
The Athletic’s Jim Bowden is out with his 22 bold predictions for the 2022 MLB season, which begins on Thursday. Two of them include the New York Yankees.
Let’s start with the more obvious one:
The Yankees announce that Aaron Judge has agreed to terms on a 7-year extension worth $224 million and the Guardiansannounce they have agreed to terms on a new contract with third baseman José Ramírez for 7 years worth $196 million dollars on the eve of Opening Day. Judge is eligible for free agency at the end of this season while Ramírez will be eligible after the 2023 season.
Both the Yankees and Judge want to get a deal done and have set a soft deadline of Opening Day to complete contract talks.
Now for the doozy:
The Nationals increase their offer to superstar right fielder Juan Soto from $350 million to $390 million and he rejects it, preferring to get to free agency in three years. The Nationals then trade him to the Yankees on Dec. 29 for a package of seven prospects that includes their best prospect, Anthony Volpe.

Thoughts?
Seriously, if Bowden is right, I forgive Cashman...had a nice dream last night about Soto and Judge in the outfield.
You dont think it could happen?
