No team is trading their chips for Yankee scraps.
However, the Yankees definitely need to get rid of a lot of scraps. Like Sanchez, Urshela, Hicks & Wade. Maybe they can move these scraps for cash or prospects.
The only way they can improve is to go out and spend money. It's their power they refuse to use.
I wouldn't mind if they kept Rizzo and moved DJ to third, putting Torres at 2b and signing one of the big FA shortstops.
If they can spend some money on a SS and a starter, they can get away from 'just chasing the second wild card spot'......"Leave it to Yankees fans to be upset at having too many great players.”—Hitman23

It gets the Yanks a solid #2 behind Cole in Marquez, it gets them a replacement for Sanchez, it gets rid of about 350 strikeouts (Gallo and Sanchez), it gets them another lefty bat (in Nunez), it gets them a smaller, more agile catcher .
I don't see the Rockie having much use for Gallo and I'm not sure why the Yankees would want catcher who has has show zero hit tools in hitter friendly MiLB and MLB parks.
Now if you want to talk about a package headed by Volpe and Medina I'm sure the Rockies would have interest, I'm not sure the Yankees would though.
Baseball is life;
the rest is just details.

It wasn't a fluke year. Voit has a 137OPS+ as a Yankee over nearly 1200 PA going back to 2018. For reference, the year where everyone is claiming Stanton and Judge carried the team, Stanton had a 136 OPS+ this year and Judge was 149. DJL had a 136 in his 2019 season when he batter .327.
He's exactly what the team needs. Great hitters that hit for decent average (.271), get on base (.261), dont strike out a ton (27% of PA), and can hit lefties and righties (his splits are almost identical for LHP vs RHP).
BTW: His BA and OPS are higher with runners on base than without runners on base. His BA and OPS for RISP are even higher than that.
The only chink in his armor is health and defense. He's objectively one of the best hitters in baseball. I'd venture to guess there are probably 30 players that are better hitters over the same time span.
There were 7 players who had an OPS+ above 137 this season- what Voit has done over 3-4 seasons. Vlad, Ohanti, Olson, Judge, Tucker, Lowe and Ramirez. That's where he ranks as a hitter since he's been a Yankee.
We get it. You just dont like Voit. It's You dont like him and you want to pin the problems of this seriously flawed team on him, but I hate to be the bearer of bad news: He's one of the best players on the team and one of the cheapest.
Did he get a bad rap? i have no idea but his defense and type of hitter he is we have lots of. Why do we need him to take the DH spot full time? i do not hate any yankee nor love any Yankee even if they do bad. But the bottom line to me is he gets hurt way to much plays bad defense and strikes out like half our team now does.
I rooted for him in the short season and was happy but this year he just got awful staying on the field and his defense cost us plus his K's but to say i do not like him is wrong. I do not like his game at 1B or taking up the DH spot.

The DH was built for a guy like Voit.
We don’t need Stanton in the DH spot. You lose value by not playing him in the field.
If Stanton needs a rest day, let him sit out a game. Same with Judge or Gallo. That is why you have a fourth OF.
The stats show that Voit is an above average offensive player.

Judge Stanton Sanchez Gallo strike out like Voit. So yes what Voit does is what is wrong with this team. Of course in my opinion not dislike for anyone on the team or like more then others.
I care about 1 thing and that is to win. I really can't pick a favorite Yankee.
