Last offseason we pretty darn disappointing. My feeling is that we will have a far greater disappointing off season this offseason. It's sad times here in Yankeefandomville.

It will be very interesting to see how many years they give Boone on his next contract.

If it's only a 1-year offer, it provides a ray of hope that perhaps Cashman has already been put on notice. Cashman's deal expires after 2022 so it could mean Hal is giving them one year to right the ship.

That being said, who am I kidding? He'll get a 3-5 year deal and Cashman will still be here in 2035.

Now now, I'm sure there are some once-promising reclamation project arms available at reasonable prices.
I hid in the clouded wrath of the crowd, when they said "sit down" I stood up.

Unfortunately to be followed by a more disappointing regular season to be followed by an even more disappointing off season.

2048 is my magic number for Cashman. 50 years seems like the type of ego-driven metric he would shoot for. I realize that he will be 81 in 2048, but I have seen a lot of folks hang on that long in their jobs. On the Supreme Court (an analog for obvious reasons), Stephen Breyer is 83 and Clarence Thomas is 73. Ruth Bader Ginsberg was 87 and Antonin Scalia was 80 when they passed - both were still on the court.

You may be on to something. On top of that, it would give him one more year than Connie Mack, further stroking his ego.

And it's not like a senile Cashman will be much worse than the existing version so performance won't be an issue. Heck, he might actually improve.

So what you guys are saying is i will never see a new Yankees GM for the rest of my life. Wonderful. Unless Hal sells the team.

I think if it's a short deal (and I'd imagine 2 years rather than one), it could also be that Cashman is setting Boone up to take the fall. I think Boone is much more easily discarded than Cashman.

Unlike Cashman Hal does not consider Boone as one of the family.

This is obviously hugely speculative, but I don't see it as an outlandish conjecture. It depressing to think about. I am currently reassessing my relationship with the organization. I am not sure where that will lead. I cancelled my tv access to the team earlier this season and haven't been to a game in over 1.5 years, but I am considering what it means to be a fan of an organization with which I have fundamental disagreement on very basic things. I am not really sure where it will lead, but it is a process of which I am in the midst.

I'm sure u'll find an internet connection in the afterlife and get a senior citizen discount.

                        It's what I'm hoping for.

Well that would be an interesting move with Britton being owed 14M as he rehabs from TJ surgery....I am sure Yankees have an insurance policy that covers that deal.

Stop being a spoiled Yankee fan. The answers are already in that locker room. The players (that Cashman, drafted, signed, and traded for) just need to get healthy and stop under performing.
