thank you. (too bad) I like AFL, a lot of clubs put their top prospects there as part of their development. I followed Torres there and I think he was the top player that year. I just like seeing the younger players.

We differ - I believe a Top Catcher and ACE bring back Monty ? is the only way we have a chance with this roster. I do want a LHB. but not Rizzo (or Gardy, Hicks)

Found it nice to see Austin Wells there

    thanks again

The Yankees offense still significantly underperformed once the "handedness" problem was solved. To me, "handedness" does matter to a degree but not as much as some make it out to matter (and the some might include Cashman who seemingly switched his view and bought into the handedness argument at the trade deadline).

That's what I've heard as well (re: his glove). Don't get me wrong, I'm excited about him. And I know you follow the minors very closely so the fact that you have high hopes gives me a little more confidence. I'm not saying they should go for Seager or Correa because Peraza or Volpe won't burst on the scene in a year or two. I'm saying get the bird in hand now while there are two elite, young FA SS on the market. If Peraza or Volpe force the Yankees hand there are ways to fit them on the roster.

As an aside, why are you saying Correa is not a great SS? He's actually good defensively, 12 OAA this year (6th among qualified). Seager is not as good defensively, but is good enough.

and remember a time when the killer Bs, Betances, Brackman and Banuelos were going to anchor the Yankee rotation for years to come.
I think you and I are in the exact same frame of mind on this. I used this same example of Hughes, Joba and Kennedy previously. The team desperately needs elite talent in the daily lineup now and if these two guys both pan out as soon as 2023 they can get them both in the lineup.

If they are going to pass on guys like this because of promising young players in the minors, ok... then blow everything up, bring in a GM that knows how to build from the basement up, trade all their valuable pieces for top of the deck prospects that are a year or two away from the majors and start over.

Yep if they pan out super you have the problem of which one you move to 3b or 2B or which one you flip like the Rays did with Willie Adamas this year when Franco forced his way on to the roster.

tough I don’t think the yanks are going to be in full blow it mode anytime soon. They just need to decide if they want to be the Dodgers or a high budget version of the As.

except it wasn't "solved," plugging in the atrocious Joey Gallo (and to a lesser extent decline-phase Anthony Rizzo) doesn't "solve" the issue just because those guys happen to stand in the left-handed batter's box. The idea is to balance with a guy or two who actually hits.
I hid in the clouded wrath of the crowd, when they said "sit down" I stood up.

Exactly. Quality matters. I’m convinced this team wins it all in 2019 with Harper.

Man, you just want it all.

Wouldn’t call it a career season. It’s in line with who he’s been throughout his career.

The post-season is a different story. He’s been on fire.

Not to be a total pedant, but the 21st century didn't technically start until January 1, 2001. This means it's actually 4-1 Red Sox.

Why bring up pedantry? The 21st century didn't start until January 1, 2001.

Correa had a good defensive year this year and has been up and down in ratings . BP believes a future move to 3rd is coming. With that said my take is not to put 300 mill into a position we can fill with quality. IMO this team needs to change its path.

Would he have held Boston to 1 run in the WC game?

Ortiz is quoted as saying Arod would make a great manager. Knows the game inside out. Won a WS as a Yankee.
                              Thoughts?
