I know everyone will look at me and think i am crazy but i would ask them to ask what it would take to get Bieber and Jose Ramirez, I would trade anything in the farm except Dominguez, including volpe, or any other prospects they think are untouchable. maybe even include Dominguez if It got The trade done, Cleveland is rebuilding and might as well get top prospects in return, if Gleyber is required than he’s gone
"I think I got it. How about this? How about this? We trade Jim Leyritz and Bernie Williams for Barry Bonds, whaddya think? That way you have Griffey and Bonds, in the same outfield! Now you got a team! Ha ha!" -- George Costanza

Never ceases to amaze how Yankee fans think "rebuilding" for other teams means "let's trade young, proven, team-controlled (Bieber) rising star to the Yankees for a bunch of their farm system lottery tickets."

if you tried to scientifically profile the type of player a rebuilding team DOESN'T trade, you might come up with Bieber.
I hid in the clouded wrath of the crowd, when they said "sit down" I stood up.

Good thing I said anyone in the farm except Dominguez. Don’t think anyone in baseball thinks anyone in the farm system like volpe or Schmidt or 24 year old Torres are lottery tickets.

Now Cashman said that SS is the area which they need to address. It gives me some hope that they would go after Seager or Correa this off-season.

This is exactly the type of thing Cashman says before the free agency period opens, followed by his standard excuses (we all know them) when he picks up a dumpster dive for SS.

I love Rizzo as you know and his skills are not the same so I doubt he gets a big contract from anyone,

It sounded like Cash would like to keep him, if possible. A great role model for future Yankees coming up in playing style.

BTW I didnt watch most of the games so far but I did note how many times hitters took what they were given, hit singles...100% different from this team

I wouldn't mind Baez for SS if they wanted to go that route. No draft pick compensation and should be cheaper than Correa or Seager.

They need to look for the best overall fit, but that has different meanings for different people. For me, that means Seager just because his LH bat and hitting style are a perfect fit for this lineup. While his glove isn’t elite, it’s a marked improvement over what they current have and he can easily transition to 3B if/when Volpe or Peraza pan out.

For Hal and Cashman, the best fit will be financial which is why I expect them to once again disappoint the fanbase and use Volpe/Peraza as an excuse to sign someone off the scrap heap because “...we already have Volpe and Peraza and they are only 2 years away. We believe in our process and we’re proud of our built-in discipline.”

I think the Yanks should be trying to cut down on strikeout/low % contact type hitters - Baez is not the one for them IMO.

Yes probably right but think as a Yankee, he would be beloved....He has that flare the Yankees need in the lineup IMO.

Cashman did try and trade for him a the deadline.

Love the idea of Correa. Add some spunk to this team and adding an Astro might wake this team up from their fantasy land.

He won't even do that. Urshela at SS and DJ at 3B until our highly touted minor leaguers are ready. Now that Torres is the regular at 2B.

Forget the Volpe is two years away idea. Put him on the roster in 2022 as a 21 yr old shortstop.

Wander Franco came up as a 20 yr old, Lindor as a 21 yr old, Tatis as a 20 yr old, Trea Turner at 21, Bogaerts as a 21 yr old, Austin Riley (3rd base) at 22 and Jose Ramirez (3rd base) at 22.

Is there a reason to spend $30mil+ a year on Seager or Correa? They can come in 3rd place with a rookie SS.

I'm fully expecting andrelton simmons. they seem to be obsessed with him from afar

That they have shown shame is not my point. Of course they haven't. That doesn't mean they're not ashamed. This sort of thing happens all the time, especially in politics.

I just dont think they will mix him in to that clubhouse, with so many people on the team still bitter over the scandal (judge in particular). we know they value chemistry "in that room"
