He would not be my first choice. I hope they go hard for Corey Seager at SS as I think he fits their needs best but he does come with some injury history.

I agree - he's just awful. Package him and gleyber to Pitsburg for Reynolds. Works out well for both clubs - Yanks get a really good hitter and defender in CF while the Pirates get back two pieces they can flip at the deadline if they're performing, especially Gleyber.

Good rebound candidate..Similar to Sanchez offensively

Are the Pirates still run by the same guy who accepted Archer for Meadows, Glasgow and Baz? Because that's the only way they're making that trade.

I guess Brian takes today, maybe another day or two to get all the blame flow charted out. So maybe by Monday we'll hear who takes the fall? Maybe the assistant trainer or the translator dude?

Similar profile but with lower K rates and a bit better average, but a WAY better defensive catcher. He's not Johnny Bench but he does provide above average offense and above average defense fro the C position.

It's just that the MLB C position is pretty thin overall. I'm all for change from Sanchez if it actually is an upgrade but the list of FA catchers is thin and old. Do you really count on a 36 year old Buster Posey continuing his resurgence after a yea of in 2020 when he looked nearly done in 2019? Do Yan Gomes or Wilson Ramos represent an upgrade over Sanchez?

I'd be shocked to see Phil Nevin back but beyond that not sure where the finger pointing goes.

That one got him fire. So no there is someone else calling the shots in Pittsburgh these days.

No thanks…after watching a bunch of no contact, can’t find the hits he would hurt.
"We understand that John Henry must be embarrassed, frustrated and disappointed by his failure in this transaction. Unlike the Yankees, he chose not to go the extra distance for his fans in Boston. It is understandable, but wrong that he would try to deflect the accountability for his mistakes on to others and to a system for which he voted in favor. It is time to get on with life and forget the sour grapes."

Yeah I see it's Theo's old colleague Ben Cherington. Don't know how he's going to do as a GM but I'll wager that unlike the desperate Cashman, he understands there's a reason a rebuilding Texas team was so anxious to get rid of a 27-year-old power hitter that they even paid his salary.

Because that would require Cashman admitting the trade was a mistake..... much easier to just let him leave via free agency after next season than to admit fault and trade him for significantly less than you paid 3 months ago.

Ideally the front office would get blown up and we would get a major regime change. I would take offers on everybody. It concerns me that they seem so concerned about payroll and they have stanton locked up long term, and have Judges free agency coming up. Seems like a bad idea to have both of them locked up long term if youre going to be that concerned about payroll.

All in all i expect cashmna to be back sadly. And I do not expect the roster to look all that much different next year. Hopefully DJ can be more than .270 singles hitter next year

Anyone else listen to Kay today? He went absolutely nuclear on this front office.
