You believe that, I don't share that view as I never expected Boone to be fired as long as Cashman remained the GM. Boone isn't the problem, the problem is Cashman doing a better job in player acquisitions and roster development.

I agree Boone isn't the problem, I used his rehire as an example of how I don't believe Hal and Cashman are moved in the least by public sentiment or media scrutiny, or as you put it, the spotlight. They answer only to themselves and for all I can tell, they think Cashman is doing a great job in acquisitions and development, it's those darned players not living up to Cashman's astute calculations that are screwing things up. Hal said so himself at his presser over the summer.

You might try getting bold and making LeMahieu part of a major trade. The Red Sox did it with Mookie Betts.

I understand that Cashman is this forum's boogeyman for everything that has changed or gone badly for the Yankees, but I'm not sure you can blame him for Jackson moving on.

This is landing as super dismissive of the opinions of the vast majority of folks on this forum. Given your espoused opinions on the general topic, I am sure you didn't intend it this way. Please be more mindful about how your posts can be interpreted. Thanks.

As much as I want Cashman gone, I'm not going to accept the "doom and gloom" scenario. If I was going to be that way then I would just stop being a Yankees fan and move onto some other entertaining endeavor that gives me greater pleasure with what little life I still have left in me.

Also, the Yankees haven't told us much except that Aaron Boone is coming back as manager for the next 3-4 years and they need another SS.

I think we're pretty similar in this respect - this is also how I feel. I can be critical, disappointed, and even angry when things go wrong, but I don't live my life blaming myself or other ppl when things have gone wrong - I try to learn from mistakes & look ahead instead of looking back. I'm not into judgement either, because I don't want anyone judging me.

What lies ahead? I think the first thing we should be paying attention to as fans is to determine whether re-setting the LT will be a precursor to opening up the wallet. I'm guessing the organization is planning on increased revenues in 2022, and are still trying to recoup the revenue loss in 2020. With some of the financial commitments the club has, IMO they certainly must realize that they need to increase payroll by about 20% (total $225M-$250M?) to contend for an AL East title in 2022.

The Yankees are in money making mode. The traded minor leaguers to get free major leaguers. They had no ball boys down the lines all season. No manual scoreboard operators. They stressed many times that they have THE Process in place and the fans are dumb and they are smart. Read through the Yankees Out Of Play forum where the season ticket holders discuss how poorly they are treated by the Yankees. Customer Service is the worst.
Boone is a puppet. He is there to follow the laws of THE Process. The Process is having a team that hits HRs and strikes out. The whole team. That's what they are directed to do. They are a team with puppet coaches who can't guide players to be better base runners or fielders. In fact, the Yankees clearly don't care about fielding.
I'll be interested in seeing which broadcasters they bring in as the hitting and 2rd base coaches.

I totally agree with you. And no elevator operators, seat ushers or vendors at the Stadium either. Hal trying to pinch ever penny. I do actually think they might make one big move to try and placate the fans. But overall more of the same next season.

If it were a total rebuild that the Yankees had in mind, sure, DJ might be on the block, hell even Judge. However, to commit to a rebuild would mean an admission that the past season has shown that the Yankees are not a serious contender any longer. That's not going to happen with this outfit.

Well yeah, if you wanted to do a Betts-style trade, Judge would be the guy you move. He has that kind of value. I was reacting to the idea that the Yankees could pull in some kind of Betts type haul by trading LeMahieu.

Of those two I'd prefer option 2, but I would not be ok with it. The Yankees can upgrade at both positions, and the two players you've identified for them are ideal targets. With one being a FA and one would require significant cost in terms of mL talent, it's a good concept to pursue both versus a half measure of one or the other.

I agree but what happens at 3B...Do you trade Urshela and slide DJ there?

I would trade Torres and play DJ at 2B, Gio at 3B.

If/when Volpe or Peraza pan out, shift Seager to 3B
