Right, I think with this roster, barring a huge and unexpected makeover this offseason, I think always having a LHH at C would be a plus.

For the life of me I don't get this. Yes, he spit the bit on like 3 of 4 appearances. So what, when you look at the situation this team is in and the arms that are now getting opportunities. Even if he amounts to nothing, what's the opportunity cost?

Yes. Assuming the C can actually hit the ball.

Certainly not Montgomery. He wasn't going to start a playoff game anyway.

Montas threw 1 inning today for SWB. 1 run, 1 hit, 1 walk, 17 pitches. He’s ready to go.

                  By February.
                  Let the kids play.

Hopefully for one of the other 29 MLB teams.

Sorry about the Jets, Mike. Dallas looks mighty at this point, so the Jets might rise again against other teams. Montas, you're right, won't, at least not with our team. It's sometimes hard for me to stomach Hicks and Donaldson (so far, anyway) succeeding with their Yankee-funded teams going to the playoffs. I guess we just have to rationalize that they'd still be in the doldrums playing for the Cashman Yankees. Even Bader, who isn't doing that well with the Reds (so far), might make it to playoffs-ville.

Per Katie Sharp: Entering today, the Yankees had been hitless in 48.8% of innings this season. That's the highest rate in MLB.
David Ortiz tested positive for performance enhancing drugs in 2003.

But … but … but … batting average doesn’t count right?

It's not a bug, it's a feature. They're 7th in MLB in home runs so all is well in Cashmanland.

                            29th in BA
                            26th in OBP
                            23rd in runs scored

They don't get on base either.

                              They only love solo HR.

Yankees are tied for 6th in MLB in walks so poor BA is the primary source of their OBP problems.
