I see the Reds placed Bader on the IL. Talk about a player that is always injured.

Yep. He made a good catch at Citi Field and grimaced. I wondered if they’d have to IL him.

I may be crazy for looking at this...but we have 6 games against the Blue Jays, 3 against the Royals. The Jays have 2 more series against Tampa. Texas and Seattle are playing each other for 2 series as well. Could we be one hot streak and some luck away from sneaking into a playoff spot or am I really dreaming here?
Mariano Rivera was so great he was able to close a Denny's.

            29th in BA
            26th in OBP
            23rd in runs scored
BA on balls in play has them 30th (.262). Yes, they are worse than the A's by a significant margin (.276).

You can't predict baseball. Or, as Yogi once put it, " In Baseball, you don't know nothin ' ".
More people have walked on the moon than have scored an earned run off of Mariano Rivera in the postseason.

The BABIP, to me, is a huge issue. It's not that they're not making contact, it's that they're making lousy contact.

Hope not. Best to put Hal and Cashman on the hot seat if that's at all possible.

I like BABIP. There is an easy answer for us. They don't count HRs because they are NOT in play. We always favor the HR.

                    (H - HR)/(AB - HR - K + SF

Sweep the Jays this week. Then 9 games left.
Not sure the pitching is up to the challenge.

Meanwhile, although in a lost cause (not his fault), Montgomery apparently pitched lights out tonight.

Pitching? What about the hitting?. Yankees needed to sweep the Pirates but could only score 2 runs yesterday. And really they were lucky to win Friday's game. Yankees will face Gausman twice and he always gives the Yankees fits. I really don't see the Yankees doing more than splitting the 6 games with the Jays.

I hope we start Brito and Randy Vasquez at least once before the end of this season rather than Weaver (or Montas). I think this will be good opportunity for them and give us more info for next year. Cole - Rodon - Schmidt - King need 1 more.
