Just keep him away from the 9th inning, lol

They need him to be effective if the Yankees want to make a serious run in the playoff.

This. They need Chapman to be peak Chapman in October.

Looks like he’s going to be the closer again.

Might not be a bad thing right now. Not like there are a lot of other options right now.

He’s looked very good of late while Holmes has looked very shaky.

Peralta has been ok but not great. Efforts isn’t a closer.

I'd be shocked if he wasn't.

Or we'd have a lot to answer for, lol.

"Deep to left! Yastrzemski will not get it! It's a home run! A three-run homer by Bucky Dent! And the Yankees now lead by a score of 3-2!" - New York Yankees announcer Bill White (October 2, 1978)

Yeah but Effross was last night.
I hid in the clouded wrath of the crowd, when they said "sit down" I stood up.

I saw that. Shaky but got it done.

Aroldis Chapman seems to depend on self-confidence. He's pitching for a 2023 contract. I think he's going to re-claim the closer role and thrive in it, as well bringing his patented drama to the 9th innings again.
"Somebody once asked me if I ever went up to the plate trying to hit a home run. I said, 'Sure, every time.'" -- Mickey Mantle

Now if the Yankees could only get to the 9th inning with a lead for Chapman to save.
