Fun with John & Suzyn 2023

Post your joys, concerns and other cogent points about the dynamic duo here, as we celebrate the 19th season of line shawts and it is high, it is far, it is foul/caught. Goodness gracious!
I hid in the clouded wrath of the crowd, when they said "sit down" I stood up.

It’s only the 19th season? Seems like a lot more.

Seems like an eternity. God do I miss Rizzuto, White and Messer.

I'm going to guess this will be their last season. I just don't see them staying relevant. I wish them both good luck and good health this season.

John might could back on some more games after this season. Eventually like Vin Scully just do home games and maybe from Boston and Baltimore. But I don't see any major changes.

I am sure I am in the minority. I love them both; they are "special."

Yep, 19th. Kay left for YES after 2001. Then the Sterling/Charley Steiner interregnum in 2002-04. Suzyn hopped on in 2005.

I guess I’m thinking of the 34 years Sterling’s been doing Yankee games, with maybe 6 years worth of material.

Hey, in fairness he's the greatest play-by-play man in New York Raiders history.

I actually listened to Sterling call Raider games on a tiny transistor radio that I hid under my pillow when I was supposed to be sleeping.

He sucked at that too. The Raiders color announcer, Fritz Peterson knew more hockey than John did. The Raiders and the Golden Blades were my teams back in the day. Just $2 to sit in the mezzanine at MSG to watch pro hockey.

Coming back from a commercial for the bottom of the first, John got caught singing DJ Lemahieu's name as it it were a Broadway show tune

I know people love to hate them, but I like that they seem like they genuinely enjoy the job. They don't take it too seriously, and they have fun with it.
