What about state gun laws and enforcement? I freely admit to not understanding how a lot of this stuff works.

Strongest gun laws in the country are in blue states. Not so surprisingly, they tend to have the lowest number of gun related deaths as well. Unfortunately, nothing stops people from crossing state lines with weapons.

You see a wide disparity, based on the political lean of the state. And, not surprisingly, you see states like Massachusetts and Hawaii with the least gun deaths, and places like Louisiana and Alaska with the highest rates.

What might be useful is some followup on how the kid in this Michigan shooting got his weapon or weapons, and some discussion on how it might be prevented.

But these shootings have become so commonplace and accepted as the norm that we don't seem to hear a peep from anyone.

States with Democratic Trifectas have generally tried to pass stricter gun control laws in one form or another (waiting periods, background checks, limiting types or weapons or amo, etc.). Sometimes they are up held by the courts, sometimes they are overturned in the name of Second Amendment Free For All. But often it doesn't matter when one state with stricter gun laws is right next to anther state with lax gun laws.

It's been 22 years since Columbine. There's been plenty of talk. Talk and talk and talk. Action is what's missing.

It's only gotten worse. This was a 15 year old whose dad bought the gun on Black Friday. Guns are becoming just another purchase... and not just hunting rifles or handguns, but military grade weapons.

The truth of this post makes me cry.

I talked to my ceiling before bed last night. Also I thought about them just now. We’re good.

We're a couple weeks away from 9 years since Sandy Hook. If the massacre of small children hasn't moved the needle, sadly nothing will move it
You wanna know what? You gotta problem with Luis Cessa, you gotta problem with me. And I suggest you let that one marinate
