    Indeed.

And most of those children were white and affluent. If the GOP doesn't care about white, affluent kids dying by gun, then they don't give a rat's butt about anyone dying by gun.

I would give almost anything to get out of this country. My kids will never be protected from gun violence, and my little girl is about to lose her right to bodily autonomy. Oh, and a bunch of trash refuse to be vaccinated or wear masks. I'm so done with this hellhole.

You should try to find a way to move to Canada.

People show up to school committee meetings enraged about this phantom CRT but not a peep about us being the only first world country that has to live this way and build in an expectation of a certain number of dead kids every school year. We really are a backwards, garbage society.

Be very careful. This is offensive to many members of our community.

Early snippets of info on the Michigan shooter suggest he fits the profile of the disenfranchised, bullied loner.

What's potentially very different is the involvement of his parents.

They are never loners. They may not have found his pack yet but he has one.

But does nicely sum up the "Thoughts and Prayers" platitude that seems to follow nearly every one of the shootings. But if someone wants to talk about how to change it because of one of these many shooting it always seems that it's "Too Soon" to discuss and you shouldn't try to "politicize" it. And don't let those Libruls take your guns.

I understand that. But "I talked to my ceiling last night" is offensive and unwelcome. You need to find a way to sum up "Thoughts and Prayers" without offending people with religious beliefs.

Why is that the group we’re always accommodating? Why isn’t the “people that are offended by slaughtered children” the preferred demographic?

I know, forum rules. As a society, we should be doing more to call bs on that as a way to avoid actually addressing the problem. And getting it out of our legislative and judicial bodies entirely.

You don't think any of these mass shooters are loners?

Believe me when I say that I have looked into it many times. It is never going to happen for me. There are too many factors outside of my control for it to work. I wish like hell that I could. I am stuck in a place that I loathe. I can't even get to another state, never mind another country.

If I or anyone I loved was a victim of a mass shooting, thoughts and prayers from the right I would take as an insult. They are worthless

                            I fully agree.

That still doesn't give us the latitude to denigrate someone's religious beliefs.

Why not? Why is that the chosen off-limits qualifier?
