Full FDA approval will be here soon. They'll have to find another excuse but I'm hopeful some will use that as a way to give themselves permission to get vaccinated.

I am hearing August or September. I then expect the list of businesses and industries mandating vaccines or a negative test to skyrocket. I then will await the “small government, pro free market” republicans calling for the government to step in

Here is another thing about the Trumpsters. One reason they won’t take the vaccine is they say (wrongly) and t wasn’t tested enough and doesn’t have full FDA approval (second part is true though if they saw what review it did go through they would see very little difference). But last year when Trump was shoving hydroxychloroquine down our throats with zero study by anyone for treatment of Covid they couldn’t take that drug fast enough

They honestly should have been first in line, exclaiming for anyone who might care to listen that the vaccine is only available due to Trump's Operation Warp Speed. If they absolutely had to make it a political issue, take credit for it and roll up your sleeve.

Of course, a far better course of action would be to keep politics away from public health. Getting a shot to protect yourself and your community is not a partisan issue.

I think young folks not getting vaccinated is a big problem.
I think mistrust of science and medical field causing vaccine hesitancy is a big problem.
I think misinformation from anti-vaxxers is a big problem.
I think main stream media adding fuel to the vaccine hesitancy is a big problem.
I think elected official making ignorant statements against vaccines is a big problem.

They all might have different root causes and solutions but they are all bad.

Unfortunately, given how the delta variant is spreading in a much more reslient manner, those "personal choices" are not impacting just the persons making them.

I think it's selfishness more than stupidity. "They can't tell me I have to wear a mask. They can't tell me I have to get a shot." There's so much focus on a perceived relinquishment of personal freedom, that they don't even consider the greater good.

I'm sick and tired of the selfishness. Everyone wants a government hand-out. Everyone wants the government to pay off their debts. Everyone wants someone else to pay for their needs. And now, entirely too many people are unwilling to invest a few minutes and a sore arm for a few hours to protect their neighbors. Personal responsibility has vanished in this country.

I am in favor of mandating the vaccine but it was decided long ago that only the states and not the fed gov not have that power. I think we'll see more and more of it in blue states but red states gonna red state.

It is a moving target that requires a consistently renewed vigilance. I'll be glad for full adult use approval, but I NEED it to get even emergency auth for my kids!! We love amongst too many assholes who won't get it. I'm in fear for my children every single day...

I think the CDC communications have been inexcusably bad. Hard jobs can be done well. They have failed over and over. It's embarrassing. Apparently they posted a job today for a new communications officer. Hopefully they find someone better than what they've had.

You’re probably right. However, I think you need to appreciate the correct action to take would’ve been to engage a messaging war with then president Trump.

What loophole? The POTUS is the CEO of the Executive Branch. Anyone employed in that branch serves at the pleasure of the President. That's why he gets to name his Cabinet, instead of inheriting whoever is sitting behind those desks.

That's not a loophole.....it's a feature. Let's not give even MORE power to career bureaucrats.
