While much of the Golden State’s current coronavirus woes are driven by virus spread in the less-vaccinated and restricted inland counties, the Bay Area hasn’t been immune. Most Bay Area counties that hoped to reach the yellow moderate level by now remain stubbornly stuck in orange. Marin and Santa Cruz counties, which had reached the yellow level, are back up to orange. San Francisco is the only county in yellow.

For Bay Area residents, that has real consequence. Local health officers have reimposed indoor face-mask wearing regardless of vaccination status and say they will lift the order only after their counties have dropped below the orange level for three weeks, among other conditions.
Right, because they don't want it to become the next Florida. I find it funny that a Florida paper feels compelled to report that.

Just because someone tries to make a point doesn't mean it works.

          Apologies for reading and thinking.

I get it. Their business model depends on it.

And in that “success”, Florida still has 2.5 the death rate of California over the last week, which has pretty much been the mantra. Let ‘em die, we’ll just go lalalalala.

Fortunately, Florida actually has a pretty similar vax rate to California so they’re not in the “worst in the country” rate since the outset like Mississippi, Alabama and, well, we’ve showed the red states dragging the whole country down numbers in this thread many times.

I get it but like... stop feeding them. I still see the crap when you all reply to it. 🤣

Cases in the West, aside from the coast, are going back up. At work our number of COVID admissions has doubled in the past two weeks. Approximately 90% of them -- not including pediatrics, where elementary kids just became eligible last week and under 5 still are ineligible -- are unvaccinated.

I'm really tired. There's no end in sight.

Absolutely give this to our children. People had common, known reactions. They missed a day of work. It's why the mandate includes a paid day off to recover from any after-effects. Not seeing the problem here.

According to the CDC, some of the most common side effects of the Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 booster shot are pain at the injection site, fatigue, muscle pain, headache and fever also, the chills and nausea. For the Johnson & Johnson booster, the CDC said that fever, fatigue and headache were some of the more common symptoms.

Recent data from the CDC shows that among 12,500 people who received a third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, 79% reported those local reactions, such as pain and itching at injection site, while 74% reported the systemic reactions like muscle pain and fatigue.

No one said there wouldn’t be side effects. This point isn’t even a point. So to the right heirs effects are worse than dying. I am seriously surprised a segment of this population manages to get through the day without burning their house down

Eff around and find out (KTLA):

A police officer who was placed on leave for missing the city of San Francisco’s deadline to be inoculated has died after being stricken by COVID-19, the San Francisco Chronicle reported.

Officer Jack Nyce, 46, tested positive on Nov. 2 and died Saturday at a hospital in Manteca, his wife, Melissa Nyce, told the newspaper Monday.
